Shingles And Meningitus!
My name is Ana and I am 50 year old English lass. I am currently working in Atlanta Georgia (USA). When I was back in England in march I had indigestion pains in my upper chest. They came and went. Then on April 13th I had a wee itch on my right shoulder blade. I thought it was a thread from my shirt

Interesting article “Towards a Meningitis-free world, can we eliminate meningococcal meningitis?”
An interesting read: “Towards a Meningitis-free world, can we eliminate meningococcal meningitis?” We have jointly written an article, now published in the influential medical journal 'Vaccine', exploring the critical role the patient groups play within the UK in the fight against meningitis. There

We're urgently trying to raise awareness to those who don't know of this terrible disease.
Hi everyone, At the Meningitis Trust we urgently need help to raise vital awareness of meningitis. Would you be willing to share your story? We are concerned to find in a recent study that 5.3m adults in the UK cannot name a symptom of meningitis. Your stories cannot only help others who have

Do people successfully return to work following Bacterial Meningitis?
It is a tough world out there to find work. And I guess for us with residual damage from the meningitis to return to employment is also limited or not possible. I am wondering if many people post Bacterial Meningitis successfully return to work or find alternative employment and successfully manage to

Bog Off Viral Meningitis, I'm Back to Normal......
One of the common themes in questions about viral meningitis I see is 'when I'm going to be back to normal' or 'I just want to get back to normal'. For some people viral meningitis is a bit of an inconvenience for others, unfortunately like me, its a life changing experience full of compromises

A staggering 68% of parents are unaware that meningitis vaccinations do not protect their children from all forms of meningitis...
Research released earlier this week shows that a staggering 68% of mums and dads are unaware of the limitations of current vaccinations against meningitis. Although great strides have been made to protect children from some types of meningitis, there is currently no vaccine to protect against

Has anyone had to be tested for Lyme Disease
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone had been tested for Lyme. My daughter has been diagnosed with Chronic Pain, she's had her knees injected (bad reaction to that) and has many Lyme symptoms which mimic other diseases apparantly. I don't recall her ever being bitten by a tick, however we do live in

Has anyone been told they have internal Shingles? If so, what kind of treatment do you get to lower the pain?

Does anyone know where I can go in the U.S.? For Urticarial vasculitis?
I have been sick for a long time. Was told I had UV just this past June. Before that it sounds like a lot of other stories I have read. I was diagnosed with eczema. Than Lyme Disease. Than celiac spru. And finally UV. Now I am being treated at one of the most respectable places in the world but they

MTX and Arava?
Are any of you taking both Methotrexate and Arava? I was on this combo for several years, since Arava first became available, until a year ago when Arava was not available for 6 months. Have no idea what that was about. I know I was better, stronger, willing to be more active than I am now

My experience of anti-tnf
Anti-TNF experience I’ve been on one anti-tnf for the past ten years. Its infliximab, but there are other more recent ones, but I think the procedure is more or less the same for each one. I also take 20mg methoxitrate weekly. And I should say that I’m not medically qualified in any way, this blog

Just a quick update
I thought I had done this a couple weeks ago but I can't seem to find my post anywhere... I had the visit to the rheumy and many other visits with other specialists. Seems all is good so far with a few suprises. My ANA was positive at 1:80 and speckeled pattern. I also tested positive for Lyme

A strange immune anomaly
I have just been diagnosed with Hughes Syndrome in the last 2 months. I am 48 yo. Have many of the general symptoms so I won't go into detail here, but it occurred to me as I laid in the hospital for the last 25 out of 30 days, I wonder if that Rubella Titer is due to this. Everytime for my physicals
