To take or not to take Urso!!!!
After a couple of years I had not seen any improvement through taking
Urso
I ask my consultant why should I continue to take it? He said patients taking
Urso
who's LFT's improve are classed as responders and those who don't improve are non-responders.

Fibroscan and Urso...
The doctor has put me on
Urso
(naturally) and said she'd get a few more blood tests to determine if that score is due to inflammation or whether a biopsy is needed. In the meantime I have an appointment in 3 months time to determine how the
urso
is impacting.

New GI states Urso will not help my PBC
I was diagnosed last August with PBC and prescribed
Urso
. Although I never started taking the drug, I have since moved and therefore decided to follow up on this disease with new GI. He stated that if I truly have PBC,
Urso
will not help. So confused.

Nausea
I was prescribed
urso
and deloxetine but had to stop taking the deloxetine due to horrendous side effects. I have been getting awful nausea and stomach/back pain for a week, this tends to be in the evening around 7 pm. Does anyone else have this? Also terrible joint pain mainly in the morning.

ALP spiked after three 2 years stable
My ALP responded quickly to
URSO
when I was diagnosed in 2014. I started having pain again off and on and lately more on. I have had three surgeries in the last year. My thyroid removed for cancer, a fibroid removed with a ovary and an emergency removal of the other ovary.

Newly diagnosed & started Urso
I just started
Urso
and it is definitely NOT agreeing with me as my symptoms seem worse. I'm wondering if the
Urso
has helped alleviate your symptoms? I have been experiencing increasing fatigue,no stamina, night-time itching, elevated LFTs and soaring levels of cholesterol.

Side effects from Urso?
While I hadn't been exactly well for several months, the
Urso
seems to have made matters much worse. Has anyone else suffered terrible gastrointestinal distress when beginning to take this medication? I do take several other medications, which my doctor reviewed before starting me on the

Great News :)
My specialist said the fact that my numbers have come down means I'm responding really well to
URSO
and at this point there's no need for the Prednisone she was going to put me on if the numbers remained high.

On the itching,....
I was offered the
URSO
, but wanted to wait till i was showing symptoms first. After all those years in the care of a liver specialist, and being symptom free with regular blood tests every 6 months, i was discharged into the care of my GP.

Has anyone not been helped by Urso?
For any new people, if you saw my posting when I first started, I had side effects - headaches, flushing and itching - when I first started the
Urso
. I'm happy to say that all those side effects dissipated within two weeks or less and I have none now, so stick with it.

Fibroscan results! 😀
I am so relieved, it seems as though the
urso
is working and my herbal and probiotic milk drink is helping my liver to be ok. I'm now on annual tests for the fibroscan. I'm so relieved that I can now just get on with living my life normally again and look forward.

"PBC in remission" - any other experiences please?
I've always understood that it was a one-way process in which progressive damage took place to the bile ducts and there ain't no way of stopping it, and the jury is still out on whether
urso
slows it down.
