Hi bartholomewpatri

I've been on this trial for nearly 4 years and the drug -OCA - is in fact about to become available, in USA at least. For those of us elsewhere- I'm in Australia- we hope to follow suit.

Cheers

Karaliz

Best wishes also try to avoid sugar salt and far as they all cause inflammation and we have enough liver inflammation now so no need to add fuel to quicken the expiration of our lovers I also am taking many antioxidants like n acetyl cysteine co q 10 and selenium to fight the scarring and prevent damage before it occurs I read good things about a acetyl glutathione and acetyl l carnitine as ways of making more glutathione internally to prevent scarring and damage I feel much more energetic on these and may try colostrum as well

I disagree about the expiration of our livers.....recent studies have shown that unlike most of the older stories about PBC that are online, in fact PBC doesn't mean an automatic death sentence...all the best to you, yes sugar and salt and bad for many many conditions. I don't have any inflammation, thank goodness!! Urso works for me I am so lucky!! My Liver specialist said I will die from smoking not PBC. Obviously I must stop smoking...I don't how much inflammation etc or anything about your condition, I am just speaking generally, of course everyone's illnesss is different...best of luck.

I believe there are only a few of us on the trial in Australia and as I mentioned, it is not commercially available yet ( soon) but it definitely improved my LFTs. I had become a non responder to Urso after 7 years.

OCA is the first new drug for PBC in over 20 years which is wonderful.
