Great News :)
My specialist said the fact that my numbers have come down means I'm responding really well to
URSO
and at this point there's no need for the Prednisone she was going to put me on if the numbers remained high.

On the itching,....
I was offered the
URSO
, but wanted to wait till i was showing symptoms first. After all those years in the care of a liver specialist, and being symptom free with regular blood tests every 6 months, i was discharged into the care of my GP.

Has anyone not been helped by Urso?
For any new people, if you saw my posting when I first started, I had side effects - headaches, flushing and itching - when I first started the
Urso
. I'm happy to say that all those side effects dissipated within two weeks or less and I have none now, so stick with it.

Fibroscan results! 😀
I am so relieved, it seems as though the
urso
is working and my herbal and probiotic milk drink is helping my liver to be ok. I'm now on annual tests for the fibroscan. I'm so relieved that I can now just get on with living my life normally again and look forward.

"PBC in remission" - any other experiences please?
I've always understood that it was a one-way process in which progressive damage took place to the bile ducts and there ain't no way of stopping it, and the jury is still out on whether
urso
slows it down.

Edema anyone?
My blood work isn't great as I had been off the
Urso
for 2 years... But in just a month back on, levels are improving. I've also had gastric band surgery (2010) and lost 200+ pounds (thus the weight gain is particularly frustrating). My serum albumin level is very low (1).

Horrible dilemma update!
This showed stage 1 fibrosis, and the doctor said that my LFT's have come down a little now, so i don't have to start
urso
, which i,m very pleased about as he has confirmed that there is NO alternative for its source other then from harvesting it from dead animals. I have it in writing too.

What should I ask?
I was just about to start taking
Urso
with some trepidation I might add! Thankfully have had no side effects so all is good in that respect. I have my first follow up appointment with my consultant since diagnosis, back at the end of January, next week.

Cholesterol
I heard that PBC caused high cholesterol and that taking
Urso
would solve that problem. I really really don't want to take statins - anyone else with the same problem? Thanks Kandypat

Horrible dilemma
I,ve been prescribed
urso
, but haven't started it. I emailed the manufacturer to ask them exactly where they sourced it from, as i,m a strict vegan. The answer was is that they source it from cattle from the slaughter house.

Consultant this week put me on increased

Second hepatology appointment
Hi just thought I would update you on my progress, I have now been prescribed the
urso
, x3 per day. I am now waiting on the liver biopsy date, my specialist wants me to wait to take the
urso
until after the biopsy as the
urso
may change the biopsy findings.

Newly diagnosed and concerned about pain
Hi Everyone, I am newly diagnosed with PBC (diagnosed December 2015) I've started
Urso
treatment, and my blood tests show that I'm responding well to it. My LET'S are slowly getting better. However, last month I had awful pain over the liver area and nausea lasting 3 days.

Treatment and advice
Urso
has definitely improved her bloods. If it's indeed alcoholic cirrhosis, would she still have to take
Urso
indefinitely? Many thanks Tim
