Recently diagnosed
I just got my diagnosis after a liver biopsy and I started
Urso
300 3 times per day. My ANA is 1:2560 and AMA is 1:163. Liver enzymes not too high. Wondering if an anti-inflammatory diet would make more sense than jumping on

Worried!
Im on 1000ml of
Urso
daily and already my system is upset because my band has been changed, feeling very low at the moment and don't want to worry the family. Any advice would be appreciated.

Ascites
I was first diagnosed with PBC in 2008, took
Urso
for a couple of years, then allowed life to get in the way (and perhaps some denial) and was off and on the medicine for several years. Earlier this year, I returned to my GI specialist and restarted the
Urso
and am diligently taking it.

How to get access to new medication...?
I've got PBC for several years now, first with good results on
urso
. In the last three year my liverfunction tests got worse and worse. So, I'm one of the non responders on
urso
. In the US obeticolic acid has gone through an accelerated procedure of FDA approval and is now available for patients.

Fenofibrate
At the time after about 18 months of appearing to respond to
urso
, my liver function tests became quite elevated over a short period of time.

Flu jab
I was diagnosed with pbc in early July and I am currently adjusting to taking
Urso
. I have an appointment with my Gp tomorrow. The surgery have written to me about having a flu jab. I am intending to discuss this tomorrow. Has anyone had the flu jab? Or does anyone have any thoughts on it?

Is anyone on the new drug Ocaliva?
He wants my ALP numbers to go down more so I will be taking 2
URSO
pills + 1 Ocaliva 5mg pill per day. I was taking 3 URSOs per day. The side affects are fatigue and itchiness. Although the percentages for these side effects are low. Is anyone here on it?

Jackie - new member
I take
Urso
750mg at night and even though I have told him that a family member was diagnosed, had a transplant and has now passed away, he says that I just have a condition which I just have to get on with.

Finally have a diagnosis.
I have been given 1500 mgs of
Urso
day and cholestyramine for the itching. The
Urso
makes me feel a little nauseous and I seem to be more tired too. Hopefully this will pass. Not sure what this disease means for me, but I have been immunized against, pneumonia, hep b and the flu.

To take or not to take Urso!!!!
After a couple of years I had not seen any improvement through taking
Urso
I ask my consultant why should I continue to take it? He said patients taking
Urso
who's LFT's improve are classed as responders and those who don't improve are non-responders.

Fibroscan and Urso...
The doctor has put me on
Urso
(naturally) and said she'd get a few more blood tests to determine if that score is due to inflammation or whether a biopsy is needed. In the meantime I have an appointment in 3 months time to determine how the
urso
is impacting.

New GI states Urso will not help my PBC
I was diagnosed last August with PBC and prescribed
Urso
. Although I never started taking the drug, I have since moved and therefore decided to follow up on this disease with new GI. He stated that if I truly have PBC,
Urso
will not help. So confused.

Nausea
I was prescribed
urso
and deloxetine but had to stop taking the deloxetine due to horrendous side effects. I have been getting awful nausea and stomach/back pain for a week, this tends to be in the evening around 7 pm. Does anyone else have this? Also terrible joint pain mainly in the morning.
