2 year old daughter - new pfic diagnosis
She was put on rifampicin and
urso
along with vitamins to try stabilise her. Luckily they have and we’ve had the go ahead to take her off her meds but keep her on rifampicin. We’re really lucky as it came down as fast as it came up my main worry is now she’s off the meds what will happen?

Questions for consultant - six months on from diagnosis
Ask whether it's possible to have a prescription for
URSO
for more than one month's worth. 7. Ask whether different brands of
URSO
can cause side-effects (stomach cramps etc) Are there any other general questions that I should be asking? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks

Blood test due - but missed dose of URSO
Yesterday was my birthday and I was taken out for a lovely day ... but in all the excitement when I got home, I completely forgot to take my
URSO
:-( Is that likely to have an effect on my blood results?

Struggling to function
Obviously I’ve been on
Urso
but sadly I’m a non responder. When I do have bad days I like to read everyone else’s comments to know I’m not the only one struggling out there dealing with this awful illness.

So two years later
Yes I'm taking
Urso
, so I kinda agree with him. Through out this time I've sometimes said (I'm not a complainer as most of us are not) that I just feel soooooo tired. It occurs to me lately that no one can understand that. They are tired too, no matter what age.

Taking paracetamol and URSO
I still divide my
URSO
into three 250mg doses per day (with a meal) but some days if I'm on the run I might take one at breakfast, skip lunch and then have two in the evening.

Pbs & cholesterol
Could it be anything to do with the
urso
? Never had high cholesterol before taking it. Doest anyone else have this problem?

Urso side effect
I taking
urso

Urso & weight gain
My question is, does
urso
cause weight gain? My stomach is getting bigger. Could it just be fluid retention or the
urso
? I have been taking it for six months now. My weight hasn't increased so not sure why my stomach has! Has anyone had the same problem?

Sounds like a lot of us on
urso
suffer with a bloated stomach. I look like I'm pregnant by the end of the day and my clothes are really tight & uncomfortable. Going for results of my blood test next week so will discuss it with my Dr. Have a good day x

Normal labs but so what!?
Ok, I’ve been reading on pbc fb that some people are having completely normal labs but pbc is still progressing.... in fact this one is a bad stage four... she is on
urso
and was told
urso
can cosmetically affect enzymes but not slowing progression. Has anyone else heard this?

Cellcept or Azathioprine
I was put on Budesonide and
Urso
, but didn't get on with
Urso
so stopped taking, a few months later Budesonide was stopped. I was left alone until 2017 and another consultant I was seeing for something else noticed my lft's were not good and asked a colleague of his to see me.

3 months on Fenafibrate Tricor
I wrote 3 months ago that I was placed on Tricor, a cholesterol lowering drug that has been known to lower liver enzymes, as I was a non responder to
Urso
. My alkphos. was over 1,000 about two years ago. I was around 600 when I began the Tricor along with
