First day of meds
so today I saw my doctor and asked for help with my depression, anxiety and
trichotillomania
. I couldn't start another year in the same way I have since I was a child, I know I deserve better. I have been prescribed sertraline and have just taken my first dose.

Trichotillomania
I was just wondering if anyone on here is dealing with
trichotillomania
because I would like to know so that I am not alone. I joined this community because it was the only hair loss community on here. So if anyone else is dealing with this please comment.

One daughter is in Scotland for the semester. My other daughter is taking a trip to California in March. I'm stuck at home with PSP...grrrr.
It is about
Trichotillomania
. Just call it Trich. In short, it involves involuntary hair-pulling. Has had it since age 10. Have tried much in terms of therapy, medications, but is known to be next to untreatable. Many speakers on various subjects. Hopefully she will learn much while there.

First blog, a bit about me, kinda rambling, hopefully blog quality will improve over time haha!
I am 21 years old and I have been suffering from anxiety since the age of 13,
trichotillomania
since 15 and as a result of the two I have low confidence/self esteem and I can sometimes feel quite low (although not clinical depression).

The
trichotillomania
has been pretty much quashed over last few weeks, the reason being I’ve been knitting at quite a frenzied pace, I’m becoming much better, tackling bigger and more complex projects, I’ve nearly finished a cardigan for myself, and knitted a whole selection of baby articles.

It is foolish to pluck out one's hair for sorrow, as if grief could be assuaged by baldness - Cicero (Marcus Tullius Cicero)
Between me and my therapist we’ve decided to now try and tackle my
Trichotillomania
, not really a tic I know but apparently HRT was initially developed to help with

Knit Off!
I had another session with my Habit Reversal Training therapist yesterday and although I cannot say that I’m pull-free (not pulling out hair) but I’m better, I’m better at identifying when I’m likely to start pulling out my hair (
trichotillomania
) and I’ve been trying my best to distract my wandering
