Which Treatment for These Biopsy Results?
I now have my biopsy results Gleason 3 + 4 ie 90% of 3 and 10% of 4 Grade 2 The consultant said it was Intermediate but at one point used the term Low intermediate. Is this latter term valid given the stats? T2a NO MO - but I am puzzled about this because although it was mostly all on the left side

PSA testing - time taken to separate serum
Dear AllJust wondering if there are members who can advise on if there are defined standards on how long can PSA blood samples remain within whole blood samples before they reach the end of their shelf life? I will explain that the NHS in UK have set a standard of a max time of 16 hours between the sample

What is the next step
I have one more Immunotherapy for my bladder cancer, so far all scan have shown no metastasis. Now I need to focus on my PC after more than a year of ignoring it. My PSA has been fluctuating and is now 0.65, doubling time is 16 months, I have not had ADT yet and my MO wants to just wait and watch. What

My decision on Radiotherapy -v- Prostatectomy
I hope this story might be useful to others. I'm based in the UK and had a PSA of 12.7 from a test in June 2023. That led to an MRI in August with a PI-RADS of 5 with irregularity on the front of the prostate. I eventually had a biopsy at the end of September after 3 cancellations (this was through the

CDK 12 mutation and Immunotherapy
Hi All, My PSA as is starting to rise on Arbi/Dexa. I have the CDK12 mutation which is apparently known to be a drug target or to predict sensitivity to Atezolizumab (Tecentriq PD-1 Checkpoint Inhibitor), hence there is open Immunotherapy trial called BoB (NCT03767075). I meet the trial doctor next

Erectile dysfunction
Hi My first post, I think it is pretty obvious that many of us, me included, associate our self worth, status with our 'masculinity'. This may or may not be a good thing, but many, most men in fact consider themselves to be profoundly binary. They represent the '1' to a feminine '0'. When a man fails

I got some doubts about the know-how of my oncologist
I met with my oncologist last Friday and either I am confused or she is. I am open for both scenario. :) This post is sort of a follow-up on another I did back in August: https://healthunlocked.com/advanced-prostate-cancer/posts/149892314/need-help-in-understanding-psa-level-recurrence-after-treatment

Letting Go
If it is one thing that I have after almost 18 years of playing this game, it is a story or perhaps many stories. So Many chapters. What I am about to say may seem easy from the perspective of undetectable PSA and clear scans these past 10 years. I assure you that at the time there was nothing easy about

My husband has been rediagnosed with NMPC he is on ADT which is holding the Testosterone very low but psa shot upto 82. New MO is starting Enzalutimide plus continuing ADT. Not looking forward to the side effects, but will perservere until psa drops. We have been discussing using Estradiol to help

Prostate cancer but normal PSA?
HI All. I had my first ever PSA at the age of 62 and it came in at over 26. I took a repeat and it came in at 25, then a week later I took another and it was 29. I had a biopsy that came back positive (cancer in 11 of 12 samples) and even though both my CT and bone. However, they indicated that since

Bloating tips
Does anyone have any tips for bloating? Happens with any meal- doesn't matter what I eat or drink? I'm 31, have 2 fibroids, had 2 prostap injections which showed the fibroids slightly shrunk but now have suspected PCOS. I have a constant bloated stomach - I've seen loads online about rheal superfoods

BAT trial
With Xtandi failing and my metastasizes not PSMA avid enough for Lutetium my MO referred me to the Kinghorn Cancer Centre in Sydney to be assessed for a clinical trial involving BAT and Carboplatin (chemo). I am now in the trial and have had my first testosterone injections plus the carboplatin infusion

Discontinue all antioxidant supplements on early signs of biochemical recurrence?
The latest literature appears to indicate a PSA as low as 0.03, regardless of the multi-result dynamics is a reliable very early confirmation of biochemical recurrence. Maybe it's arguable some rare cases may "slip through" and stabilize without further treatment but data from the latest studies is

My story of my 23 year battle with Pca.
I have decided to share this with the group because yesterday a guy shared his fear. In no way should you take any of this as a suggestion for treatment or refusal of treatment. I was diagnosed with Pca Gleason 3+3 July 13 2000 ar the age of 49. When the Dr. gave me the results I started sweating profusely

Confusing CT scan results
My PSA has been rising slowly after prostate removal two years ago. Was at zero months after and slowly rising at .02,.03. .05, .06. .09 and then .13. My doctor ordered CT and bone scans. Bone scan came back clear and then CT scan showed a few things in bones and a nonspecific mass outside the liver

What's next?
As I've written before, my husband stopped all treatment and is receiving palliative care. Just got the results of his 3-mo. PSA and it's jumped from 40 to 91. Wondering if there's any way to know if/when symptoms will start appearing due to PCa's further or worsening spread? He experiences some pain

Are Lymph nodes a filter?
Do lymph nodes simply act as a temporary filter to prevent cancer from spreading too far? I was curious about this because I have 4th stage prostate cancer, and my Lymph had swelled to the size of a golfball. When I took the ADT, my PSA went from 1000, down to 6, and all evidence of cancer disappeared

PSA Follow up
Had an appointment with my urologist today. PSA is still 0.00. Obviously I’m thrilled. He said that since I’m 3 years out from RT and 4 years from RP, he’s comfortable with seeing me annually because my PSA has been stable at 0.00 for three years. I told him I thought I’d feel better waiting until
