Help with GP gaslighting
My GP is calling my latest thyroid results ‘borderline’ and doesn’t think it explains my symptoms. I’m livid! 19 months I’ve been waiting for my blood results to get outside NHS normal range from low in range. Now at TSH 0.32 (range is 0.35+). I have an enlarged multinodular goitre, I have iron infusions

DEXA results worse, trialling HRT
Had my first DEXA scan 2 years ago at 48 due to family history of osteoporosis. I have no other risk factors. Scan showed osteopenia in my hips (overall -1.7) and osteoporosis in spine (overall -3.4). Did not want to take alendronic acid offered by my GP. Asked for medication review with Rheumatology

Hypothyroidism Prevalence in the United States: A Retrospective Study Combining NHANES and Claims Data, 2009–2019
This USA paper discusses prevalence of hypothyroidism in the USA. And comes up with 11.7% in 2019. That same year, the NICE guidelines said "about 2%" for the UK. An astonishing difference. Is the USA figure ludicrously high? Or the UK figure improbably low? Or is there such a large real

Can anyone make sense of these results for me please? I was ferritin level 6ugL (23-300) in September. It has rose which I'm happy about but I'm still incredibly symptomatic, I don't really understand blood test readings, can anyone shed some light on it? Serum Ferritin level (XE24r) 26ug/L (23-300

Everol Conti patch
I’ve been pretty healthy up to the stage of menopause where I really struggle. Started taking HRT two months ago where symptoms improved to my relief but the HRT side effects relate to very mild symptoms of heart attack (confirmed by NHS services). Reduced the patch by half todays ago. Should I cut down

Do I need to up my patch dose?
Hi All, I've been on Evorel 25 patches for 12 months now. (I have a mirena coil for the progesterone) I was unable to tolerate a higher dose than 25 and this dose did help with many of the symptoms I was experiencing. I recently had a recurrence of some symptoms, including a couple of hot flushes

Does anyone successfully juggle this? I would like to get my HRT from the surgery (just around the corner) One from an independent (next town, surgery won't supply) Then might need to source the NHS T3 from somewhere else again? (possibly one of the postal ones?) Just signed up to explore what Chemist4U

After my last post regarding my private blood tests, my Endo increased my levo to 100/125 alternate days. I've just had more blood tests, 6 weeks on through the Endo so no Ft3 and again he says they're in range! I really lost my sh*t and got out my list and explained how I've been feeling since having

Advice on my blood test results, please.
Hello, I was diagnosed in August and really benefitted from advice from people here. I am lacking confidence in the GP as I feel they don't do anything proactively, although they have seemed happy to follow the guidance I am given here. My blood test results are below. I have been prescribed Vitamin

D-2 big day is coming
I have not written in a while, but been busy scheduling hip replacement. The stars are finally lined-up. I've delayed Ocrevus treatment so I can have surgery on Thursday. Can't wait to be on the other side: being able to get back on Ocrevus, regain mobility and move/exercise a bit more than I'm able

Can you take an iron supplement for a short time without gp prescription?
Hi My last Ferritin result was 64 (30-150) I have read that Ferritin better to be at least 80 to help thyroid hormones work. I have lingering fatigue, terrible hair and a couple of other things. I read that the hair thing can also be low ferritin? I'm taking vit d and b complex. There's no way on this
