My Rheumatologist wants me to go on

Tocilizumab reaction after 9 months
Unfortunately I'm taking
tocilizumab
for my GCA and PMR in addition to my RA and it's done a great job of knocking my inflammation down. My labs are practically normal.

Actemra FDA approved
For those of us in the US, it is great to note that the FDA has expanded the use of Actemra (
tocilizumab
) to treat giant cell arteritis in adults. This is the first FDA-approved therapy for GCA, granted under a breakthrough therapy designation and priority review.

Hello All, Questions for those folks on
Tocilizumab
. This is the only drug I take now, 600mg IV every 4 weeks. I have been finding that my achilles feel like they are going to snap. I have brought this to my Rheumy and have just been advised to keep cycling to loosen them up.

Tocilizumab/Actemra - and biosimilars
I thought with all the discussion about using Actemra in GCA people might find this article interesting: https://scrip.pharmamedtechbi.com/-/media/Supporting-Documents/Scrip-Issue-PDFs/2017/scrip_3852.pdf?la=en Actemra's patent is due to expire in the next few years and at least 3 companies are testing

Tocilizumab 1 year on
Started infusions of
Tocilizumab
last May. Had been on Rituximab briefly and before that enbrel for a couple of mths. Diagnosed in March 2014 with inflammatory RA or RD to give it it more apt name. For first 3-4mths on
Tocilizumab
my life was transformed and I was near normal.

Rituximab without MTX?
I have not been on a biologic since the
Tocilizumab
was stopped as it no longer worked. I have been informed today that the Rituximab cannot be approved if you don't take Methotrexate with it. Unfortunately I cannot tolerate MTX even at low doses so I'm stuck at the moment.

Actermra/Tocilizumab Approval and financial aid in US.
Hello All, As many of you know the GiACTA (
Tocilizumab
) clinical trials were finalized in 2016 and the drug was approved in May of 2017 for Giant Cell Arteritis only. After much research, I have decided to start treatment with Actermra this month.

Does anyone have any experience of having been given this drug (by intravenous infusion once a month)? Used as steroid sparing agent. also ... does anyone have any blood tests results for Plasma IL-6. (Cost seems to be same as CRP but more sensitive to extent to which Prednisalone is working).

All about Kay in France
Moved to France (Picardie) in 2003 and have several major flares and drug changes since (Leflunomide, Methoxtrate, Enbrel, Abtacept,
Tocilizumab
) - some due to secondary effects/allergic reactions, and some to the fact that the drug didn't do a lot.

Starting yet another Biologic
Hi everybody, not posted for sometime now but just wondered if anyone is on
Tocilizumab
. My rheumy has suggested I go onto this biologic now (number 4), as Rituximab has not worked as it should. Would really appreciate any comments, good or bad. Many thanks 😊
