nebuliser
I want to buy a nebuliser for home not to use with medication. Is it ok to just use saline and if so what saline do you recommend. Also what nebuliser would you recommend

Silicon mask allergy/intolerance? Any alternatives?
Hi All My respiratory nurse wanted me to try a salt nebuliser for my bronchiectasis...with a mask, I tried it for a while but was getting a very unpleasant rash on the sides of my face and near my hairline, after a while this altered to blisters in the same area.I tried a mouth piece and still the same

Stopping Montelukast
In June 2020 i was given a diagnosis of Severe/ Brittle Asthma and was put on Montelukast, Carbocisteine and Spiriva and was told to buy a home nebuliser. Now my Dr has recently advised me to stop taking Montelukast but hasn't given a reason even though he knows that this was what brought my asthma under

high dose ventolin
Hi all!I was just wondering if anyone has come across this previously. I finally went to my asthma nurse and she thinks that my asthma is even less controlled than I suspected I know this is bad and I need to take it when needed but when I'm in need of my ventolin, if I don't get it, the need

DO YOU STERELISE YOUR NEBULISER EQUIPMENT
I've found a very useful way to sterilise it .. They are BIMIRTH Resuable Microwave bags.. I got 16 bags which can be used up to 20 times .. they're for baby stuff but great for your nebuliser bits I paid around £10 for them on Amazon

Pseudomonas and Colomycin nebs
Hi, I just wondered how long you’re usually prescribed nebulised Colomycin for? I had 3 month course last year, then it was stopped, but due to repeated infections I was prescribed another course but for 6 months this time (or until my next review)? I’ve had a review today and although I’ve not had

Recent admission and now what
My asthma has been out of control for the past few weeks, I think mainly due to hay fever. Then I got covid, got antivirals and felt mostly ok. After 6 days tested negative and started a course of steroids for 5days to calm my chest down as it was even less happy. I felt great again 3days after stopping

I'm new here and was wondering if this constant cough, in spite of the nebulizer and asthma meds,is common after COVID?

Not a goodnight
had to call an ambulance for my mom at 12 am cause her breathing was terrible. She was wheezing pretty badly. She has asthma and wasn't answering my questions to well. So I made the call. Her oxygen levels were around 87. The paramedics asked her if she wanted to the hospital or do a treatment

Please can anyone recommend a ‘thermal disinfector’ for a nebuliser?
Hi, hope you’re all well. After a long flare up of my asthma (non allergic/non eosinophilic), I’ve been prescribed some nebuliser meds and now have a nebuliser (for emergency use only). Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced small disinfector for it. I’ve only ever used a nebuliser in a clinical

Re: cough cough cough
I want to thank you all for your helpful replies. As it happens, I posted my message at just the right time as I actually have an appointment with the GP tomorrow, so I can go armed with all your advice. One thing I’d like to say is that my surgery does not have a nebuliser and if you need to use one

What are your thoughts on breathing techniques vs medication?
Hi Everyone, I am sufferer of asthma, and it has been brought to my attention as to whether the effectiveness of specific breathing techniques vs medication could assist in increasing lung capacity. Breathing techniques: Some sources suggest that breathing exercises can help alleviate asthma symptoms

Switch from Azithromycin to Doxycycline
Hi, I have severe asthma and pseudomonas infection for which I’ve been put back on Colomycin nebs following an infection that wouldn’t resolve, but did after I asked my GP if we could try a course of cipro (they didn’t try that first as sputum sample didn’t show pseudomonas). I’ve had to switch from
