Wondering if any readers have experienced pains (like a pulled muscle) in the ribcage after CABG? Recently I keep getting these in different places (usually back rib cage) that come and go. I hope I am not having a reaction to Atorvastin? (have been talking it for 10 weeks now)

Ribcage pain after CABG
I suspect there is a chance of a strain as they prise things apart for access. Since my bypass I have had occasional niggles in the right rib cage but they were broken years ago
How long ago was CABG?
I had OHS 6Months ago still have few twinges.
But for few months immediately after surgery I had a pain like u described!
I am at 11 weeks
I wouldn't worry too much at 11 weeks ribcage is not fully healed just yet mine took longer than 12 weeks my ribcage was still clicking hurting not knitted together fully.
My surgeon and GP said I had costochondritis (inflammation of joints and breastbone) which is part of the pain u may be feeling.
The pain in the back of your ribcage is I agree with MichaelJH. Where the whole of ribcage at breastbone has been prised apart the back of your ribcage is basically where it is hinged!!! 😮 and bent backwards past its normal position. Plus it is kept that way for duration of surgery 😷!!
It will settle over time.
It's very unlikely to be atrovostatin.
Main side effects are gastrointestinal or pains in joints such a as hips, knees
Etc
Or severe muscular pain especially in large muscles.
I know this my body will not tolerate statins at all!! 😮
