MCH has gone over-range again, but ferritin low at 28, any advice appreciated please?
Hi, written this post twice but seems I did it on the thyroid site, so third time lucky. Issues for both and know they're a very wise bunch too, so no worries! A recent test has shown MCH has risen again to 32,5 (27-32) and ferritin dropped to 28 (23-300). I was confused as to why as thought the low

Hi, any advice please?monthly b12 inj. But MCH bit overange, yet ferritin low at 28?
Hi, Wondering if anyone can help, please? I'm confused as to why a low ferritin result doesn't bring down MCH which is just over range again at 32.5 (27-32). Do you think it means I still need more b12? I have a functional b12 def (have monthly inj) I'm also trying to treat an iodine def (have taken

Dairy-heavy diet linked to prostate cancer risk... Continued

Extract: "Perhaps the review’s most surprising omission is mention of the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) Continuous Update Project report on prostate cancer. This rigorous global analysis of the scientific literature identified much stronger risk

Subclinical Hyperthyroidism
Hi all. I've just my results back from the hospital of my CT scan (iodine) and he said the nodule i have is causing it to produce more hormone. He said to me about iodine treatment but in turn could make me underactive. I'm 30 years old and planning to have a baby, will this affect fertility? What other

Recurrent miscarriage - what tests should I be having to investigate?
Morning all, Since my last miscarriage I have since been offered a battery of tests to investigate this both through the NHS and privately. It is suspected the last miscarriage was with a PGS normal embryo (although it was female tissue so there is a 50:50 chance it was my tissue). I had a MMC then

Anybody have this? I think my gut is fungus dominant and this is the cause of fatty liver. I feel drunk if I eat carbs or sugar. Taking iodine right now to slaughter my gut flora followed by probiotics and vegetables. Any thoughts?

Medichecks Recommendation needed 🤔
Hi All I’ve read about Medichecks on here, the various tests they can do etc., so before I spend out - I would appreciate any advice anyone can give. 😀 I’m awaiting blood test result printouts from my GP which I can collect tomorrow. Over the weekend, I’ve been doing some research and reading. Common

After years of hypothyroid symptoms a functional doctor has possibly found the issue.
I thought I would update you on my progress. After years of hypothyroid symptoms I seem to be getting some answers. After numerous standard blood tests I went to see a functional Dr who tested my iodine levels and also did an in-depth blood count. Interestingly I came back as iodine deficient and

Hair loss and what tests to do
Hi, I have Hashimoto’s and have started taking levothyroxine, increased a few weeks ago to 75mcg. I suspect I need an increase as feel worse after feeling like I had a little more energy again, but guess I need to wait and test bloods before this happens. I already had dry, fragile hair that was snapping

Frustrated and confused
Endo appointment yesterday. As usual it's not the same one as last time. Explain your history? Don't they have notes? I think you need to consider RAI or surgery as there is no proof that Carbimazole is safe for long term use although some people have been on it for 15 years !!! My response, I don't

Rookie question
Hi there, I had a full thyroidectomy in summer 2018 (follicular and papillary cancer found), radioactive iodine at the end of last year and have been for a scan and blood tests (post Thyrogen injections) a couple of weeks ago. Thankfully all seems fine but I’m curious about the results of the thyroid

MD Anderson/Mayo or Peter MacCallum for treatment?
Hi all, My husband is just diagnosed with CLL with WBC at 49, Platelet at 77, enlarged spleen 20 cm and enlarged liver 17 cm. 70% lymphocytes in bone marrow. The FISH test is not available yet until next week so the treatment plan is also not available. But seem that he’s on Stage IV under RAI classification
