To take or not to take...iodine?
I know this is a controversial subject, but would like to know if anyone with Hashimoto´s has taken iodine and noticed any benefits? The doctor who prescribed Erfa for me also prescribed Lugol´s iodine solution (12%). I have chosen not to take it as I have read so many times that it should be avoided

I am due a CT Colonography and have been given Gastrografin to take prior to this. On the bottle it says "If you have an allergy to iodine do not take Gastrografin". I have Hashimotos and have been taking 100mcg Levothyroxine for many years. Should I be taking this? Has anyone had experience of

Feedback on private Blood tests please, before my Endo appt..
I posted earlier this month asking for advice before I see my Endo at the end of November. I've not been feeling too great and my Endo put me on Hrt as my levels were all in range and he thinks my symptoms are perimenopausal rather than thyroid. (graves/Rai Oct 21) I feel it's a mixture of both. Hrt

Good site for vegan nutrition info and some supplements I take
https://veganhealth.org/daily-needs/ For a good B12 source would recommend the 3 natural form supplement here : https://www.sunday.de/en/vitamin-b12/. 500mcg per day is a good safe dosage. You cannot overdose on B12 and although 500mcg seems like a lot, only an estimated 6-7mcg are absorbed of this

Hi I have started using Oatly oat milk and there is 22.5ug or Iodine per 100ml. Should I be worried about this and the effect it may have on my Thyriod and medication? Thanks Lindsay

Iodine supplements
Hi. I have been on thyroxine for several years and generally well but still suffer with hair loss. My blood tests are fine including B vits and Iron I found a thyroid support formula which seemed to help but it has iodine in it. Can anyone explain why iodine supplementation is not recommended.

Despairing spouse
Hoping someone out there can help. Will try and keep it short. My husband is on levothyroxine following RAI in 2006. Six months ago he was absolutely fine, a bit overweight with a hearty appetite. Possibly because of this he suffered intermittently with reflux. In June he started taking lansoprazole

NDT in the UK
Ok, so I am a little confused (doesn't take much 😅) I happened to mention that NDT isn't licensed in the UK on a FB group I am on for RAI and Graves disease. A lady in the states said its now "legal" in the UK and posted a link to the Thyroid UK website which states this: American and Canadian brands
