New Blood Work and New Endo
The endo thinks I have a different type of adenoma than I was told and he also said my TSH might be too low since I am not on any thyroid replacement since a partial
thyroidectomy
in 2004 and finally he tested my t3 as the previous endo hadn't.

BLUE HORIZON RESULTS.
Following a total
thyroidectomy
in February of this year, which was done for a multi nodular thyroid with a dominant nodule increasing significantly in size. Despite numerous visits to my DR with the same symptoms which i now know was Graves it took the removal of my thyroid to be told of it.

How do I interpret my Blue Horizon results?
I am 71 and had a
thyroidectomy
at the age of 19. By following the advice of this forum I feel better than I have felt for many years but feel their is still room for improvement. Recently I had a Blue Horizon blood test to check out reverse T3 and any other abnormalities.

Advice before GP visit please
Hi all, I'm 46 and had a
thyroidectomy
6 months ago, no hyper or hypothyroidism had been diagnosed as my blood tests always came back within range but my gland had grown to 10 times the size of a normal one. Following surgery I was put on 150, then 125 then 100 mcg of levothyroxine.

Tracheal deviation, cough, sputum
Bare in mind that I had a partial
thyroidectomy
7 years ago. I had a MRI scan of the neck which showed tracheal deviation and a FNA that has come back as inconclusive.

Recently diagnosed
I had a
thyroidectomy
20 years ago and have had lots of trouble regulating it because docs only looked at TSH. I was told after thyroid was removed that it was pre- cancer even though pre-surgery biopsy said Positive Follicular Thyroid cancer. I feel like it was undiagnosed Graves' disease.

Immune system?
I had
thyroidectomy
in February this year . I wonder if being hypo ( treated ) impairs the immune system? I wonder if hypo causes sluggish lung clearing. It was mentioned a little while ago that I had mucus plugs. Physio was suggested but ,long story, not followed up.

Predicting your optimum thyroxine (T4) dose
This study was based in a patient population following
thyroidectomy
but I think that if you have been on thyroxine for a long time for Hashimoto;s disease you can pretty well assume that your residual thyroid gland has very little remaining activity. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3658157

Is a TSH only test sufficient to give a true reflection on how your doing on Levothyroxine
Total
thyroidectomy
done and pretty straight forward although i had to stay an extra night as my gland released excess hormones during the op so hence i was still not made aware that i had Graves disease until my follow up appointment 3 months later.

So they cancelled my Thyroidectomy :(
All prepared to go into hospital early Thursday morning for total
Thyroidectomy
. Received a phone call this evening to advise they have cancelled the operation as they don't have enough theatre staff 😡 So fed up, been waiting forever and stressing myself out.

Thyroidectomy
I had my thyroid gland removed about 12 years ago. I had been diagnosed with Graves' disease. My symptoms were very severe and wide reaching. I now take 150mgs thyroxine a day.

Advice about whether to continue T4/T3
After 16 years on 100mcg Levothyroxine (I had a partial
thyroidectomy
) my endo let me try 75mcg Levo and 10mcg T3. I’ve been on them for one year, but to be honest didn’t really notice any change in symptoms – mainly getting abnormally cold when temp. drops and also easily overheating.
