Carbimazole and liver problems
The endo encouraged to opt for
thyroidectomy
(which i'm still not happy about!) and referred me to surgeons last year who I am still under. They've found it really hard to stabalise my thryoid but finally in the last couple of months its started to normalise and drop becoming slightly hypo.

Consultation after blood test
Thyroid problems are in the family, my sister had a
thyroidectomy
as did my mum who also had Pernicous Anaemia. I have been told I definitely don't have that. Sorry it is so long but hopefully someone can tell me if I am over-reacting.

A Return to NDT - what tests should I get?
2007 -2008 I had a total
thyroidectomy
for goitres that showed I had encapsulated thyroid cancer. I have had two does of radiation. Clear since. I have been on 150mg of levothyroxine since.

Nearly 6 months post
thyroidectomy
on 100 levo tsh 6.9(0.4- 4) ft4 11 (10-22)ft3 3.6. Doctors in hospital telling me dizziness and nausea not a symptom of thyroid ?? Ordered a MRI of brain 😖 feeling really overwhelmed. Levo is making me sicker and my endo won't listen.

1st blood test after 14 months on NDT
BTW I'm 67, been on Levo since the age of about 47 and had a partial
thyroidectomy
at the age of 27 (that op never seems to come up in conversations with the doc and I'm sure it must make a difference?) Thanks in advance for any useful info - I go on Friday afternoon :)

Switching from NDT to T4 and suffering...
Backstory: Near Total
Thyroidectomy
in 2004 due to Graves. Was put on 125mcg T4 to start with. Introduced T3 at some point. Was made to come off T3 when I got pregnant with my son in 2009. Stayed on T4 only through that pregnancy and my next pregnancy too.

Thermoablation
My endo can only recommend a total
Thyroidectomy
. I also have COPD and Empyhsemie and there would be a certain risk with the gerneral anaesthetic. I have now found a clinic in Zürich ( I live in Switzerland) where they do thyroid thermo ablation.

Uncomfortable neck
I was referred for
thyroidectomy
by my endocrinologist but the surgeon has refused to do it. He doesn't think it's bad enough to justify the risks. I am in constant discomfort. I have taken the steriods he gave me to try but nothing happened when I took them.

25 years Post Thyroidectomy... still struggling
Diagnosed with thyroid "cancer" (Papillary Carcinoma - now no longer considered cancer? https://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/15/health/thyroid-tumor-cancer-reclassification.html But, the medical science in 1991 thought it cancer. Parathyroids sacrificed in operation as well, so massive calcium supplements

Finally going for RAI, I think (after 15 years of ATDs)
Surgeon (london, invasive, expensive, private) today recommended RAI based on my history despite assumedly earning more £ from
thyroidectomy
. I have mild TED (1 - 2 mm proptosis). Surgeon says using corticosteroids for 3 days during RAI I will ensure no effect on the eyes.

Does anyone know if one could suffer from thyroid resistance and have all normal lab results after

and doseing? Thanks in advance.

Result of Endo visit
" Only those with a complete
thyroidectomy
." (so why didn't they die?) As a result of this appointment, and some placatory noises from me, he did agree to increase T3 to 20mcg per day and reduce his previous Levo dose from 100mcg to 50mcg, and at least did not kick us into touch.
