. We used grounded theory, inductively coding the first 113 interview transcripts with NVivo 11.

Help required thinking of taking T3 for weight loss, fatigue, brain fog & painfull joints.
Hi, I had a subtotal
thyroidectomy
about 12yrs ago and have been on thyroxine since. Now need advice regarding fatigue, painful joints, tiredness, brain fog and weight loss. Looking at at buying T3 to see if that would help me feel better.

Help with Blue Horizon results please
About 15 years ago I had to have a total
thyroidectomy
after my heart rate suddenly went to over 200 bpm. A scan revealed thyroid nodules (non-cancerous) and I was put on carbimozole but couldn't come off it without my heart racing. I was put on 100mcg levo daily.

Thyroid growing back after thyroidectomy
Then in 2011 drs decided best course of action was a complete
thyroidectomy
. Recovery took a while & I was in and out of hospital due to various things after the surgery. All was fine until 2015 I found a lump in my throat/neck, after MRIs & blood tests Dr said my thyroid was growing back.

Thyroid tests
I did a total
thyroidectomy
in January 2016. I would like to know if I should get tested for FT3, FT4 & TSH. Doctors are saying that it is only necessary to test the TSH . Should this be so?

High Cortisol in the morning, T4 medication and Vitamins
I am on T4 medicine due to goiter and
thyroidectomy
for 17 years and doctors refuse to consider changing the medicine? My problem could be that my body does not transfer T4 to T3 but properly rather to RT3.

both hyper and hypo symptoms on T4+T3 combo? Could that be?!?
Graves -
thyroidectomy
- T4 only only worked for a while than crashed into mental and physical meltdown with hypo symptoms 2. Switched to T4/T3 combo, went quite well for more than a year and now feels a crash is around the corner.

Running after a Total thyroidectomy
I love running and have recently restarted but I struggle with my breathing and stamina. Would increasing my meds help?

Thyroid tests
I have had a Total
thyroidectomy
due to large goiter/lump. I'm confused about my medication. I was put on 150mg levothyroxine after op'. This was reduced end of Feb as my T4 was slightly high and my TSH low - T4 26(9-25) TSH 0.02(0.4-4).

Ablation coming up....
Hello and blessings to all, I've had a
thyroidectomy
back in 2011 due to a malignantcy. My wonderful doctor (endo) at Baylor Clinic in Houston, has been watching a small nodule of thyroid tissue that was left in the bed.

Interesting article: mild TSH suppression gives closest to normal thyroid function in levothyroxine monotherapy for this group
Methods
: A total of 133 consecutive euthyroid patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma who underwent a total
thyroidectomy
were prospectively studied.

Is this a T3 conversion issue?
I was overactive for years before
thyroidectomy
and know my symptoms are nothing like my overactive symptoms. I only went up to 200mg levothyroxine last year during a severe depression spell where I was suicidal and wanted antidepressants to get through the day.

Synthroid levels and Urso
I had total
thyroidectomy
in 2010 and my TSH blood work had been same for 5 years. I never had to change Synthroid dosage. and then after 6 months on Urso I've had to increase dosage 3 times. GP says she doesn't find any interaction between Urso and Synthroid. Anyone else experience this?

I have relapsed after coming off B&R and I am seeing my Endo this afternoon :(
I am also against having a
thyroidectomy
, I have no idea how this will affect me in the long run and my fertility chances too, I am 32 years old. Can anyone give me some advice just so I am prepared for my appointment this afternoon? I am taking my Fiance with me so I have some backup. Thanks x

Blood tests following total thyroidectomy
How often should I have blood tests following a total
thyroidectomy
? They have just reduced my levothyroxine 5 weeks ago as my T4 was high and TSH low. I can't just go into the surgery and ask for a test, they won't let me.
