Is this normal?
Hi all this is my first post on here. 10 days ago I had a total
thyroidectomy
as the radioactive iodine did not work. The surgery went fine I was told. I already feel lots better than I did before the surgery. The only thing is I keep on getting is pins and needles in my fingers and toes.

Impact of a total thyroidectomy
Is there anything that I should know if I opt for the total
thyroidectomy
? I also like a few glasses of wine at the weekend (my only vice!), would I still be able to do this if I was on thyroid meds? Do the tablets have any common side effects? I should have asked the GP more questions!

Endo appointment
Why are they so hell bent on RAI or
thyroidectomy
? They are not saving money because I will end up with eye problems or is it passing from one department to another? Anyway this is the first time my meds had been reduced to minimal dose it doesn't mean it won't settle next time.

thyroid cancer
about a year ago I had
thyroidectomy
I had the entire thyroid removed. they did not take any lymph nodes. After the surgery they did tell me that it had been papilary cancer. For several reasons I did not have radiation ablation done.

Am I over or under?
He said I have multiple nodules and I’m not a candidate for
thyroidectomy
and if I was to have treatment to get rid of my thyroid it would have to be radioactive Table.

Is this all I have to look forward to
How does everyone here cope with everything from healthcare, to mental and physical well being after
thyroidectomy
? Some people will ask what my thyroid levels are and they borderline high per endo (I will take this up with new endo).

SLE, Anorexia
I've had a
thyroidectomy
and adrenal insufficiency since starting Prednisone. I'm going back to my old rheumatologist next week in hopes that he can help me. Any suggestions on how to get calories in would be appreciated.

Partial thyroidectomy
I would like information on anyone who has had surgery for partial
thyroidectomy
and would love to hear about the recovery time and what to eat and drink after the surgery.

Thyroid lump 20 years after partial thyroidectomy
Hi I had a partial
thyroidectomy
22 years ago when I was 19 as I had a large cyst wrapped around my thyroid which needed to be drained by syringe every 6 months. As far as I'm aware, this hasn't caused subsequent problems until now.

Levythroxine
Hi just asking after a total
thyroidectomy
, can you ever go 1 or 2 days without the levy. For instance I am flying next week, and don’t like the feeling i get off them. On my flight days could I miss my dose out, that would be 2 days missed in 5 days. But I would resume normally once I get home.

Miserable all the time
Was hyperthyroid till I had my
thyroidectomy
in 2014. One month later gained 10 lb. 3 years later I have gained approximately 35 lb total. Can't seem to lose anything. Tired all the time and sometimes feel depressed. Cannot tolerate cold or heat. I have exasperated osteoarthritis on top of it.
