Learning curve.
In 2007, I had a complete
Thyroidectomy
which I thought would cure the problem. Sadly, this made my sight worse and I was referred to Moorfields Eye Hospital for decompression surgery followed by 2 squint surgery.

Assumed Graves due to hyperthyroidism but no Antibody test?
I was previously told that antibodies don’t need testing if I’m having a
Thyroidectomy
anyway... ? Many thanks Ally

Should I decrease Levo after first week with t3? Lab results
Had Graves and total total
thyroidectomy
2014. Was on 100 Levo and felt ok ( maybe oversubscribed with Tsh 0,5 and t4 always in the upper end) until 2 years ago when I had a lot of stomach issues due to stress and anxiety.

New Blood Results & present symptoms
I’m also not able to loose a pound from the massive weight gain over the past 3 years since my
thyroidectomy
. My diet is good, I’m only able to walk for 45 minutes due to fatigue. Am I loosing the battle?

A newcomer’s experience of the challenges thyroid conditions can bring.
On my 25th birthday I had a total
thyroidectomy
. I remember my surgeon and anaesthetist singing happy birthday to me as I “went under”. Upon waking from my op I felt relieved, the worst part was over and the recovery could begin. The first few days were gradual, I took each day as it came.

Anti thyroid peroxidase 339ug/L how to interpret this
I had a partial
thyroidectomy
in 2006 and thyroid results have been fine ( with a 72ug/L previously. The 339 is well over the 150ug/L, can I assume I have Hashimoto's? The GP contacted me about this, and he felt my other results did not warrant any medication.

new, needing insight for appt tomorrow
I had a
thyroidectomy
when I was young. I have osteoporosis. I started eating vegan 4 months ago. I noticed I was having progressing tingling up to my knees. My hands and feet numb in air-conditioned stores. My forehead is numb. Vitiligo progressing on lower arms. I thought b12 deficiency.

Sobering endo visit
Just had the first endo visit post-
thyroidectomy
. TSH still suppressed after years of Graves, fT4 at 1.4 ng/dl, fT3... no one knows, not tested. Endo made it pretty clear that he views TSH as the golden indicator.

TT and TSH
I am curious to know about patients who have had a Total
Thyroidectomy
and whether it is actually ever likely to have a TSH test above .0 with normal doses of Levothyroxine. I know after Thyroid Cancer Consultultants like it to be below .0 but has anyone ever had it go above?

Will they do RAI or partial
thyroidectomy
when I still have active TED? Can I also say your information has been a lifeline for me - I am learning so much. GP’s have been pretty hopeless!

My history:

Post partial throidectomy
Post partial
thyroidectomy
, has anyone any insight please? I've had rigours, fever, extreme lethargy, aching joints and hands have mild shakes. All bloods normal? I know something is not right. The multinodular goiter was size of an orange! Any thoughts welcome
