After getting my blood results my thyroid level is 68..

I am having more bloods done tomorrow as my doctor wants to look into the thyroid results further..

she said that these results are severely hypothyroid..

I’m guessing she will want me to start on thyroxine.

I have been ill years back with antibodies, however they went and I haven’t had my thyroid test done for three years when they were borderline.

I’m just asking for advice on whether thyroxine would be the best option. I have taken a natural thyroxine before from abroad however it is very expensive and I’m not sure what dose I should be taking.

Any advice would be gratefully received.. extremely tired and have gained weight..

Please ask for a print out of your thyroid blood test results, eg

TSH

FT4

FT3

Also share the ranges (in brackets after results) as these can vary between laboratories.

I understand in your last post of 8 months ago you were taking ‘natural thyroid’ medication- is this still the case?

Please ask GP to check key thyroid vitamins, folate, ferritin, B12 and vit D as having these optimal supports thyroid health.

I was taking the natural however, I didn’t really feel the benefit, but I could’ve been on low a dose.. I also it as I wanted to get my thyroid checked and didn’t want anything interfering with it as I hadn’t actually even diagnosed with an underactive thyroid until now. I’ve had the symptoms for years however doctors didn’t see that as an issue as I know is the case for many others I do have my bit D B12 et cetera I will post them along with my results from my next blood test which I believe will be T3 and T4. I will put them up early next week once received. Thank you for your reply.
