AF/thyroid/digoxin

My EP wants me to try digoxin for AF. I have read that digoxin may be best avoided when either hypo or hyperthyroid. Does anyone with thyroid issues on this forum have experience of taking it?

i was on digoxin but not for long, it returned me to sinus rhythm and was stopped, as far as i know did not affect my thyroid levels.

Hi, I'm on digoxin 0.125mg for about 18 months. Also hypothyroid, taking levothyroxine 50 mcg. Digoxin has worked for me. Also on Xarelto. I haven't experienced any problems with thyroid levels while on digoxin.

It’s reassuring to hear, thank you. I understand that those of us who are either hypo or hyper can be more sensitive to digoxin, and that extra caution and monitoring is needed. I, too, take Xarelto.
