what to ask GP
I’ve been on a low dose of Levo for about 3 years. It took ages to get up to 50mg a day as I’m really sensitive to it. Because of palpitations, tummy upsets etc I now split 50mg into two separate doses ; 25mg in morning and 25mg at night and I’ve been fine doing this since December last year. My test

Accord Supply Issues
Just enquiring if there are supply issues with Accord levo. I have been going to the same local pharmacy for some years and always had good service. Until last week. I went to collect my prescription and they tried to give me Teva, saying they couldn’t dispense to ‘patient choice’. So I contacted

Not at the patients demand!
I have to share this anecdote. It makes me laugh, cry and despair in equal measure. After 8 crappy years with thyroid symptoms getting worse I put myself on T3 in November. On day 5 I woke up and said the words "I feel better" before my conscious had even engaged my brain. 4/5 months later I can sit

3 am protocol for T3, please tell me about it?
Please could you tell me what I need to know about the 3 am protocol for T3? Does there need to be a gradual transition from split dosing? Anything else I should know? I have been on T3 only for some years and recently have been very tired and depressed, for me the usual symptoms of being hypo. T3

I’ve been on levothyroxine since 2006 at a level of 50mcg original to now 75mcg. I realised after several years that 50mcg was not working as I wasn’t feeling a well as I should so increased it on my own validation as my GP said my levels were in range and the increase seemed to improve things.Fast

hi, I’ve now been on Levothyroxine 25 since last June. None of my symptoms have changed. GP has just increased it to 50 and said to retest in 8 weeks. I have been asking for increase for quite a while as my level was still in the upper range of normal last test I had in October . My levels had been

Is there any link between vaginal dryness and hashimotos
I have struggled with vaginal dryness, dry eyes and dry nasal area for a few years. I drink plenty so it's not dehydration. My doctor put it down to low estrogen and I am currently using vagifem which has helped most of the time. My question is........ Is there a link between hashimotos and these symptoms

Lorazepam experiences for one-off use
hi Just wondering if anybody has experience of taking a small dose of lorazepam before a surgical procedure done under a local anaesthetic. I am having a MOHs procedure for skin cancer (bcc) on my nose in two weeks and quite frankly I am terrified. the procedure involves taking layers and examining

endocrinologist
hello Does anyone know of a good endocrinologist in the UK who’s open to prescribing NDT please? Reasonably priced with a holistic understanding of health. I’ve always had the thought that I might feel better on something else than levothyroxine only. Took NDT years ago and felt much better, also

low TSH higher cholesterol
I had a blood test via my GP and my Cholesterol has risen to 6.7, but my TSH has remained Very low at 0.02. I am on 100mcg Levo and generally feel fine if a little tired all the time. I had a phone consult with someone who I have never met, and declined statins and a reduction in levothyroxine. My T3

Exhaustion may not be thyroid related!
Hi all, just wanted to share my recent experience which came as a complete shock/surprise. So, usual story, feeling exhausted, needing to nap all the time, barely able to function. This feeling has been even worse since new year, barely able to get out of bed. Now, I knew I was a poor converter and needed

Further blood tests
Hi I got more blood tests. The GP got it slightly wrong in that my hair is not coarse, it’s thin and falling out and I have significant slow pulse rate 40-50bpm. The GP was concerned about the low white cell and asked me to repeat and I got the results back yesterday and told - all normal but I don
