Confused!
Was told I had under active thyroid after many blood tests, started on Levothyroxine 25mcgs took for four days then had awful palpitations and fast heart rate, told to stop bloods and have blood tests and check antibodies. Waited four weeks for tests, got results today, bloods normal no action required

Urgent help please - feeling total despair - think I'm going crazy after stopping and restarting levothyroxine - blood results included
Hi, This won't be the full story as I don't want to to make the post too long and hard/annoying to read. It's already going to be too long. RAI for Graves around 11 years ago. Never felt good on T4 since. Normal dose around 100 micrograms plus around 12.5 micrograms a couple of times a week. Mostly stopped

Taiwan retrospective population study shows levothyroxine use significantly associated with increased risk of cancer including PCa
Levothyroxine is commonly taken for an under active thyroid. “Levothyroxine users showed a 50% higher risk of cancer at any site (AOR: 1.50, 95% CI: 1.46-1.54; P < .0001) compared with non–users.” I take it and will be querying the necessity and dose with my doctor. Risk of cancer in long-term levothyroxine

Just had my first ever Medichecks results through and some (most) are pretty bad although all have that lovely green mark! All supplements were stopped about 6 weeks ago - long story but I've only just got round to doing the test. Test taken at 9am with just water beforehand and last dose of Levothyroxine

Hypothyroid
Hi, I believe I may have had thyroid problems since my 30’s when I ballooned from a petite size 8 to size 16 over a few years. I am 69, in 2016 I was diagnosed with AF think I had heart issues 10 years before that. I was put on Apixiban and beta blockers while I was also taking seratonin reuptake inhibitors

Tirosent
Hello,I have been on Levothyroxine for 4 years and switched to Tirosent last year. I've noticed significant improvement in stomach and digestive issues and feel better overall. Is it possible to heal the thyroid and come off medication safely?

new test results and dose review advice.
Hello, I was started on levothyroxine by my GP on the 8th of January following test results that showed hypothyroidism. I had had symptoms for a while snd thought they were perimenopause, but my TSH levels were tested previously and came back ok (as shown by my July 2023 test results) T4 wasn’t tested

Updated labs, new doctor, but still a no on adjusting meds
I posted my labs back in December and contacted my doctor asking for an increase in levothyroxine to 100 instead of my current 75. I've talked with them twice about this, but they seem to think that since my TSH is in range that any med adjustments may make me have some heart issues. I recently changed

Blood results interpretation required
Hi there, I need help interpreting my results. My symptoms are brain fog, joint aches, lack of energy and anxiety. These have been with me all my life. They got better in 2022 when I started combination therapy. However, I do not think I have reached my optimum (whatever that is) because these symptoms

Found some old results
From all my test results in my bio, it is known I am a poor convertor. From recommendations within the Group back in 2016 it was felt I needed to add some T3, which my Endo at the time wouldn't do because of my severe anxiety levels and he said it would have to be dosed very carefully. I started the

I’m encasing my Levothyroxine in a gelatine capsule to swallow, but could this cause absorption problems?
I find it easier to swallow the tiny Levothyroxine tablets if I put them inside an empty gelatine capsule, but I’m wondering if this is an ok thing to do, bearing in mind you are not meant to take them with food. Might this hinder the absorption of the Levothyroxine do you think? Would appreciate any

Biotin
I’ve just had a recent blood test and surprisingly my TSH has fallen. I’m on 75 of levo. Not having any symptoms of over active thyroid. I checked my multi vitamin and it has Biotin in it? Would this make a big difference- should I ask for re-test? Your Serum TSH level history The table below shows

genetic tests for conversion issues etc
hi lovely forum users I’ve finally got an endo appointment via my doctor no date yet. I doubt they’ll smile on my taking ERFA but I’ve no intention of going back to Levo only as it worked less and less for me over the years. I’ve wondered if I have a T4 to T3 conversion issue and have found a blue horizon
