Bicalutamide
The thing I don’t understand is during the visit to the Urologist to discuss his biopsy results, the urologist prescribed 50mg of Bicalutamide to begin reducing his
testosterone
. I believe this is premature. What does this esteemed group say?

MOST RECENT PSA and TESTOSTERONE TEST
My PSA and
testosterone
test results have been PSA .01 and T 11 since July of 2022. I had my quarterly test done yesterday and my PSA is at .02 and T is at 21.5. They are still undetectable, but not sure what caused the rise.

Zytiga after failing nubeqa ?
The orgovyx has been keeping my T level almost in single digits, so Im not sure how another
testosterone
lowering drug like Zytiga would change anything....... but Im willing to try it if its not a complete waste of time and money.

After bicalutimide and a high testosterone level is pre treatment T just guess work?
i am curious, as I didn’t have a pre treatment base line
testosterone
taken, I did have a T level after 8 weeks of bicalutimide 150mg which was 33.2 nmol/dL (957.5 ng/dL).

High prolactin, low progesterone, high testosterone, etc..
i thought i had thyroid disease (my dad has Hashimoto’s) because my levels haven’t been ‘optimal’ in the past. my test results show i don’t have Hashimoto’s, however i do have: - low progesterone - high prolactin - high
testosterone
- low sex hormone binding globulin - high free androgen index

Does this mark the beginning of castration resistance?
Most recent PSA in April 2024 showed an PSA increase to 0.03 with
testosterone
value of 0.41 ng/ml. We have an appointment on Friday with his oncologist to discuss. My dad (and the family) is quite frightened and apprehensive that this may mark the beginning of castration resistance.

Provenge criteria necessary for acceptance.
But are there other requirements like certain PSA parameters and lower
testosterone
levels? Do we have to remain on ADT while being treated with Provenge?

Zytiga - Lupron
There is some belief that the compression fractures and the prostate cancer treatment (prednisone 0r severely reduced
testosterone
from the treatment) may have caused the osteoporosis,. Damnedif you do and damned if you don't.

Need more info on related symptoms
I’ve finished the first 6 weeks of treatment (Lupron + Abiraterone with Prednisone) and PSA has gone from 8.6 to .53/
testosterone
less than .4. I’ve had really none of the usual side effects like hot flashes or fatigue. I start radiation of the prostate in a couple weeks.

Low hemoglobin, and foot neuropathy common with ADT?
These symptoms became more acute during the last two years on Orgovyx with hemoglobin dropping to 9. ( I also had four treatments of LU177) But since stopping Orgovyx a few months ago, hemoglobin is now up to 10.6 and
testosterone
at 90.

BONE DENSITY TEST IS BAD
The bad is that my
testosterone
is down to 1, and I’m at risk of broken bones. Just had density text one score is -1.2, another is -2.5, and another-1.8. I see my oncologist next week, and think I need a ADT “ vacation “, as I’m also having a lot of brain fog.

My Cancer Journey Repost
And my quality of life has not been impaired by destructive therapies, although the achievement of basically zero
testosterone
means fatigue. ([i]At the beginning I had a lot of meetings with palliative care. Eventually I realized it was not so useful. At least at that time.

Currently take oestrogen, Progesterone and
Testosterone
as I am in surgical menopause. I also have propranolol occasionally for anxiety when I'm in work. Maybe 3 or 4 tablets a week which I've now read isn't the best.
