Hi all getting desperate now with trying to self source levo as ive had to decrease my levo from 150mcg to 125mcg due to high ft4 on my blood test. I only get 100mcg from my doctor. Asked a few times for a private msg but nobody replied. Anyone know if you can buy it in spain as i am starting to feel ill again and ime going to spain in 2 weeks...

It's not good to have your FT4 very high, there can be long-term consequences. Are you a poor converter? If so, you'd be better off sourcing T3 rather than levo.

I would say you are a poor converter, yes. You need your FT4 way above range just to get your FT3 to mid-range. That is poor, The FT4 should be just slightly higher in range than the FT3, percentage-wise, if you convert well.

Do you think i may need some t3 then? Ime lost on what to do or wait for 8weeks on 125mcg then test again first. Thank you soooo much for advice

I think you need the T3 now. Waiting for 8 weeks and retesting is not going to improve your conversion.

Thank you for that. How much should i take and when do i take it?

Well, like all hormones, you start low and increase slowly. With T3 that means starting on 5 mcg and increasing by 5 two weeks later, and see how it goes from there.

You can take it with your levo, or whenever is most convenient for you.

Thank you sooo much. Its going to be costly or stay sick. It shouldnt be like this when its no fault of our own 😔

It could all be so much easier and cheaper if only doctors took it seriously. But, they don't. They just think we're making a fuss about nothing and it's no big deal. Sad but true.

Do you think i should try t3 or stay on reduced dose then test at 8 weeks first? Sorry to be a pain...

Ignoring your test results and the good point  greygoose has made, some information:

You can find out all medicines available in Spain here: cima.aemps.es/cima/publico/...

There is even an English language option (though you still need to use Spanish to search (Levotiroxina).

We have seen many reports of people having no problem buying levothyroxine in Spain. However, I seem to remember some variation with some places, maybe some of the islands, appearing to have different practices.
