Hello all-just looked at my blood tests and sed rate is 11, creatine kinase is 50. Are these the correct tests? And are they showing elevated results? I know some of you have said the Pred could mask results.

If those are the right way round, your CRP is high, the sed rate may be but it is well "within normal range" and without a previous one to compare you can't know if it is raised for you. It is possible they would be even higher without pred!
Misread it - CK is ok, shows it isn't myositis. You NEED a CRP to be done though.
Your sedimentation rate (ESR) is minimally raised. Creatine Kinase (CK) is measured to assess tissue damage, usually muscle (skeletal or cardiac), but isn't directly related to inflammation levels. Your CK level is normal, showing you don't have muscle injury or myositis. The second test for inflammation (apart from ESR) is CRP (C-reactive protein).
Not what you're looking for?
