COVID vaccine May 2024
I had my latest covid vaccine on Saturday and it’s now Monday and my side effects as usual are horrible. Vomiting, thumping headache, stomach pain. The lymph node on the side of my neck is swollen much more than normal. I wondered is it just me?

Is it safe to renew my tetanus injection with being on 8mg Pred?
My tetanus injection needs to be topped up. I have an allotment in London which used to be part of a railway embankment and wondered if it is wise to take the injection or to wait till I have tapered down to under 5 mg? The same goes for the Hepatitis which is due? Any advice would be appreciated

flare and a cold - what do I do?
hello all. In year 4 of PMR which started April 2020 , had just got down to 3mg in April 2022 and then got COVID. I didn’t know about sick day rules (or this Forum) then so everything went haywire. I went back up to 8mg instinctively (no rheumatologist and no guidance from GPs I saw) then after that

First Injection of Pegasys
I FINALLY got approved for Pegasys, and am to pick it up at the pharmacy by Wednesday. My question is does the first injection happen in the Drs. office, or at home?? Were you given physical instructions for how to give the injection? I have written instructions that were sent to me with the approval

Covid Vulnerability- Baricitinib vs Rituximab
Hi All, I’m in a bit of a dilemma and would welcome opinions on my current situation. I have recently been invited for a Covid vaccination due to being on Rituximab. I don’t really want to have the jab. I have had 3 Pfizer vaccs since 2020 but none since early 2022 as the last jab resulted in a big

covid in early pregnancy
I’ve had two positive tests this week - positive pregnancy test (4 weeks and 6 days) and then a positive covid test last night. I only have mild symptoms (mild cough, slightly tight chest, sore throat). After difficulties conceiving and previous pregnancy loss I can’t help but feel anxious about having

suboxone podcast
I don’t know if it’s available everywhere, but The Atlantic magazine has a podcast called Radio Atlantic. They have a current series titled Scripts. The Aug 8 show is all about using buprenorphine (mainly suboxone) to treat Opioid addiction. Nothing new here, but it sheds a little light on why buprenorphine

Covid vaccine reaction
When the vaccines for covid first appeared I received the AstraZeneca type. Two or three weeks later I ended up in hospital with unbearable headache and not able to lie down. The pain was excruciating and it was thought I was developing a stroke. I had a brain scan and fortunately it was not a stroke

QUICK TAPER; CRP RISING STEADILY; FLARING
As suspected, the very quick taper rheumy thought up (2.5 mg per week til I get to 10, then reducing 1 mg per month), has caused a flare and I'm in pre-PMR pain - almost). Currently at 12 mg but should be down to 9 by now, if I was to go with her guidelines. GP refuses to let me up the pred saying "it's

Travel Vaccinations
Hi. I have already emailed my Rheumatology Team but thought I would also ask for others experiences. I am considering travelling to countries which recommend vaccinations for things like Polio, Diphtheria, Hep A and B, Cholera, Tetanus etc. Now, I have had some of these in the past but longer than 10

Covid!!!!
Hubby and I were both enjoying a long overdue week in the sunshine - 4 days into the holiday hubby developed a sore throat and a cough, and a few shivers. Temperature ok… Roll forward 2 days and my AF was kicking off in spite of medication. Home today and both of us tested positive for Covid. Fortunately

Hyberbaric Oxygen Therapy
I have a friend who contracted Lyme disease and recently underwent a series of hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions. The treatment has completely transformed him and he is now his old self. I have read that this therapy helps Fibromyalgia and other autoimmune diseases and was wondering if anyone knew
