Medication prescribed alongside prednisolone
I have been prescribed
steroids
for my most recent transfer. Fortunately I was lucky enough to get a positive this morning on test day. I was prescribed lansoprazole a PPI to protect stomach whilst taking the
steroids
. My husband has gone to collect top up meds to cover me for the next 3 weeks.

A&E visit GCA
In the meantime up the
steroids
to 60mg 🫣 all that hard work of reduction over the months 😢 So will update after seeing them. Talk about anxiety!! Which I am supposed to avoid😜 but correct me if I am wrong,
steroids
are really the only treatment for GCA?

Shampoo recommendation
Please recommend me a shampoo that I can use after I had a kidney transplant and
steroids
are administered to me, my hair is falling out. I am interested in receiving information and socializing with people who have had a kidney transplant. Thanks

'Long Haulers' and Questions for an Out Patient Consultation.
Two lots of antibiotics and a long term course of
steroids
recovery is slow and frustrating. A prolonged course of
steroids
increases my insulin resistance making pre diabetic blood sugar levels tricky to manage and the
steroids
of course bring a fungal infection along with them too.

Thank you to everyone who talked about
steroids
and “the crash.” I asked my oncologist if we could reduce the premed
steroids
and he gave it a thumbs up. I will let everyone know how the next 7-10 days go. Hopefully I will be less tired for less time. 🤞 I had a little IV kerfuffle today.

Chronic Fatigue with PMR
Could anybody please clarify is it the inflammation related to PMR or is it the
Steroids
(Preds) that cause this very debilitating fatigue and brain fog? Thanking you

I have never been this heavy in my life, and have had a lot of
steroids
in the few months. I’m wondering whether to give up until I’m off the
steroids
. Any advice appreciated.

Life after Tocilizumab?
I've been off
steroids
since mid-May. Continuing to take methotrexate (15mg weekly) and Toxilizumab weekly. I seem to be doing well - bloods fine and health ok.

Here I go again
I've lost a stone of the 2 I gained from being on
steroids
and have now been put back on them. The fat collar has already started as has the distended abdomen. It's soul destroying.

Poly Myalgia Rheumatica
I have scleroderma for past 12 + years and been on mycophenolate for 10 years for lung fibrosis I have now been diagnosed with PMR and in chronic pain doctors not sure about prescribing
steroids
which would get rid of pain because I’m on mycophenolate.

Flare Up
GP consult yesterday and advised to up
steroids
. Flare up due most likely to with drawing
steroids
to quickly. It will be slower now and every 4 - 6 weeks by 1 mg. Hopefully that will do the trick.

Suspected flare - ? When to up the steroids
Hi, I’m posting this query although I think I know what the answer will be. It’s almost 4 years since my PMR diagnosis. The lowest dose of Prednisolone I’ve managed so far is 8.5 mg. I’ve successfully reduced from 10mg at the start of January 24 (.5 mg at a time) using the DSNS (5 weeks) to 8.5 mg
