Statins(meds?) Headaches
So(!). With regard to the headaches, yesterday was a bit of day. Went to GP, told them about the headache, mentioned that it could be one of drug - "Hmmm, doesn't sound good - thunderclap headache, I'm sending you for CT scan, worse case scenario - you could have a bleed, on the brain." . Oh joy.

Plaque Regression?
I hope this offers some motivation to those that are resigned to using
statins
. Cholesterol and therefore cardiovascular health management is possible, and preferable, through dietary and lifestyle modification, without drugs.

AFib better after stroke
I am now on medication, which includes a low dose of
statins
. My theory is that the
statins
have reduced the degree of inflammation in my body, with the consequential health improvement mentioned above.

Hypothyroid and high cholesterol
I was going to get my cholesterol tested soon as it was very high last time it was tested a couple of years back and I have always refused
statins
as I believed the problem was due to my thyroid.

Advice & Guidance please
I think this was helped by the fact that he had a newly qualified doctor with him so very patient with me as a patient The Dr to prescribe
statins
I am very much against
statins
at the moment I don’t feel I am ready just to accept his diagnosis from what I’ve learnt from this forum, my blood pressure

Blood results.
They are recommended starting taking aspirin and
statins
. Waiting on doc to see if she wants to prescribed this. I then had blood tests a fortnight ago to check my liver function and now that has come back abnormal so I have to get a scan done of my liver.

Subtle reminder that I should be taking care of myself....
I've been eating rather a lot of my sons home baked cakes recently and am aware that seeing as the neurologist took me off the
statins
my cholesterol level is probably going up! So... Must eat well, take some exercise and remember that prevention of future symptoms is important for my longevity! 👍
