Statins and levothyroxine
After a few days I suffered terrible stomach pains - due to
statins
and some of the other meds taken causing constipation. The statin was reduced to 20mg from 40mg and all seemed OK but not now - after I have taken the statin at night I get stomach ache after an hour or so -.

That’s why more than 200 million people worldwide regularly take
statins
, the leading medication for lowering cholesterol levels. These drugs have proved effective, but they require consistent use and can result in side-effects. We’re now closer than ever to a solution.

Pravastatin anyone?
Has anyone else changed
statins
who's got RA for any reason? How about omeprazole and reducing? I'm going on holiday 15th August,so I'm wondering whether to wait until I come back to change statin to Pravastatin, or to get onto it straight away 🤔 Any ideas welcome

Inclisiran
Following diagnosis of very high LPa I have at last been approved for the injectable Inclisiran cholesterol lowering drug due to my low intolerance of
statins
and bempedoic acid. This drug has been approved by NICE and the NHS and was booked in for my first injection in November 22.

I have also been given
statins
. I have been given Atorvaststin which I know and have read in the paperwork that it can cause aching muscles ( my husband needed to change this tablet for that very reason) .

Statins Yes or No
I have been on
Statins
since my HA nearly 4 yrs ago and I too get aches and pains in legs and arms. I believe
statins
keep the cholesterol down? I’m not sure you can or should come off of them? Your Dr will help.

Advice please - thyroid, vitamins, ferritin. Dr only wants to give statins?
My sister's surgery only seem interested in giving her
statins
, but I'm concerned about some of her other results instead. Please can someone else give their views? I wonder if I'm right or not. She's just 60 and has been on levo for about 30 years. Sorry, results are a bit long!

Can Statins cause anxiety?
Hi, I was on Simvastatin with no issues, then changed to Atorvastatin because my cholesterol was still on the high side. After a couple of months I developed terrible anxiety which stopped when I moved back to Simvastatin. However, about a year ago I was again changed to Rovastatin. It was fine to begin

Statins Heart Attack
I was on astrovastation 80mg and have changed to Rosuvastatin 40mg. Is anyone who has had a heart attack on less dosage than these? GP said I need to be on this dosage as prevention? Overall cholesterol is 2.6.

Re; Statin
Following an audio call with my GP I am now off the
statins
(Atorvastatin) for a month. Hopefully no more leg pains. Follow up to see how to go forward. Fingers crossed 🤞

Statins
give me bad muscle pain and as I have Fibromyalgia I think the pain is worse. I was referred to the Lipid clinic and put on Ezetimibe with 5mgs of Rosuvastatin but I couldnt cope so I took Ezetimibe on its own but my number only came down to 6.1. It had been 8.5.

A treatment’s effect on atherosclerosis
Lifestyle, diet, and
statins
do not and cannot specifically reduce Lp(a). Lp(a) testing can be done at the same time as the traditional tests for Cholesterol. Since easy treatments for high Lp(a) are not readily available, even the best doctors tend to overlook this test.

Metformin, and Statins, Yet Again
There was no association with
statins
and OS in either COU-AA-302 groups. When pooling HR, OS was prolonged among those treated with
statins
(pooled HR 0.78, 95% CI 0.68-0.88).

This gets more terrifying with age when you need
statins
etc. And the dentist - torture. My asthma has become untreatable of late and its every day. More mechanical/common sense method required as consultant has given up.

Fibroscan KPA 71
The one thing I have started today is
statins
to reduce my cholesterol as that’s currently high at 9 and I’m convinced that’s a contributing factor to my elevated blood tests. Thanks

I was just turned down by NHS endocrinologist. I have a plan but I do not want to waste any more time. I was hoping for a T3 prescription.
I refused
statins
. The list is boring and long. Much of what everyone else is putting up with. A fear that basically I am making no further improvements. This is it. I can’t even honestly describe myself as static or level. I have noticed no real improvement since moving on to 75 mcg.
