Latest bloods Graves
I’ve had my latest bloods back & a follow up with my endocrine nurse on Friday. In brief I’m still losing weight, I’m now 46.6kg (no diarrhoea) sleep is still absolutely awful & I’m tired a lot of the time, mentally I’m still very up & down. My resting heart rate has improved a bit recently. I’ve just

Iron supplementation
Hi I have Hashimoto's - as yet untreated due to fluctuating TSH levels. My symptoms are numerous, and due to low levels of B12 and vitamin D, I am supplementing those. I am gluten Soy and Dairy free. My ferritin has been historically low and the GPs have frequently me prescribed Ferrous Fumarate.

Hi everyone My husband had DBS done a 1 1/2 years ago. Very successful for him , he doesn’t take any medication anymore but I found that he is slowing down. I saw that there has been studies on mucana supplements. I would like to try but I don’t know where to buy it( good quality) and how much he should

Thought I’d follow up post endocrinology appointment. New blood tests came back FT4 11.5 (range 11-22) TSH > 0.01 So whilst my FT4 is making great strides in reduction and the 20mg carbimazole is working, TSH still needs to wake up. All hyperthyroid symptoms have gone. Feel the least anxious I

Hypothyroidism
Hello, I haven’t felt like myself for over a year, started with acid reflux, swelling of hands, feet, eyes and cheeks then itchy skin, fatigue, slow movement, low mood. GP agreed to do blood test, nothing came up except high cholesterol. GP prescribed statins for high cholesterol, antihistamine for swelling

Blood test results in full. Can anyone find a cause in there for my continued fatigue etc?
I still have the same symptoms, although some have improved a bit, but not gone, by any means. Still housebound. I list below Blood test results. Can anyone suggest an issue that may cause my symptoms because my GP says no action, normal. Serum 25 - HO Vit D3 level 135nmol/L 50-174

Update after GP call
Had my call with the GP that I mentioned in my last posts. That was a bit of a disaster, although not as bad as it could have been. She did not read my notes or blood test results before the call. She asked me about symptoms, but was only concerned about weight gain and dry skin. I had already gone

normal TSH help.
I am about to go to the doctors in an hour to speak about some blood tests I had done last week. To me the results are on the higher side. From what I’m reading most doctors don’t like to do antibody tests and t3 and t4. How can I persuade them to do these just to check my levels? I had lots of other

Happy to be Here again!
I'm so happy to be back. Still on hyperthyroidism medications since 2020. My doc said we can't just stop it all like that with series of TSH tests and reviews monthly, hopefully all medications will stop one day😊

Success with GP - for now
Just had an appointment with my GP and after lots of persuasion and me quoting NICE guidelines at him, he's agreed to reinstate my previous daily 100mcg Levo. 🥳This does come with the condition of reassessing in 6-8 weeks after bloods done. (I'll cross that bridge when I get there) I got the usual

Normal TSH, but High FT4?
Hi everyone, Despite two endocrinologists confirming my thyroid is 'normal', I'm experiencing symptoms of an overactive thyroid like sweating, anxiety, and weight issues. My recent blood tests show a TSH of 1.58 mIU/L (optimal) but an FT4 of 24.4 pmol/L, which the lab deems high. I've heard that reference

Difference in levels-stress?
I've been on leventhyroxine for years for underactive thyroid. Had yearly check muddle of Feb. TSH 2.09. Had full bloods for something else (WRS) and levels are 0.36 by middle if April. I'm wondering if stress can cause TSH to go up or down? Dr. Says this is in normal range for lab- but normal

Noninvasive deep brain stimulation shows promise for Parkinson’s. Is it an advanced form of CUE1?
Stimvia’s URIS device uses electrodes placed near the peroneal nerve in the lower leg to modulate electrical activity that stimulates specific nerve pathways in the brain. It functions as a noninvasive alternative for DBS to modulate the activity of specific brain nerve pathways. A built-in monitoring

Hi. I’m new to HealthUnlocked and to this group. I’m also in America, so I hope it’s OK that I post here. I’ll try to put in all the info I have and follow proper posting guidelines. It’s taken me a while to be able to get this post all typed up due to tiredness and brain fog. I just had 3 month follow-up

Nd Thyroid to thyroxine
Hi, I have Hashimoto's thyroid and Endoctrinologist has advised I move from NP thyroid to thyroxine. I was sent for Ultra sound by my doctor and had difficulty getting a follow up as he was on holidays for 2 months. I had to get online doc to refer me and only had report of ultrasound so not the scan

TPO positive, history of early miscarriage's, no need to medicate however still being referred to endocrinologist?
Previously when speaking with my GP's I have not really got very far and didn't really feel like my concerns were being addressed or even acknowledged. No face to face or even telephone conversations, just the same old cycle of being sent for bloods then being told all ok or 'currently stable' etc.
