How should Levo dosing work - a 101 explanation needed please
sorry my brain is mush. I have read a lot of posts, tried Dr Google etc. I could do with a really basic explanation to help understand what my Endo is likely to talk about this week re: Levo dosing. what I think I know… Levo replaces what’s missing, T4. This results in lower TSH and higher T3 (assuming

New blood results - Need advice
TSH: 1.82 FT4: 19 (11-23) FT3: 5.6 (3.4-5.9) I was on 225mcg and lowered to 150mcg. These blood tests were after 16 weeks on 150. I took two weeks off of 225mcg then started 150. I feel awful. Terrible fatigue and brain fog. Was told I possibly had a thyroid storm. My FT3 has never been this

What does T4 do?
I've been treated for 25ish yrs for hypothyroid & take T4 & T3 (self sourced.) My TSH is suppressed, which makes perfect sense to my non medical slightly addled brain. Of course my previous GP didn't like it and because I refused to stop my T3, slowly took away my T4. I've been dealing with B12d for

Endo changed meds - T3 only to T4/T3
For decades I've been on T3 only with various doses, for the last six years on 40mcg a day. I got called into the prescribing hospital yesterday & the head professor endo told me that I must change to 50mcg of T4 and 20mcg of T3 a day. I'm very nervous about how I will fare on that combination. This

Determined to get t4 & t3 tested by nhs
So, followed the different courses to pursue this issue. Finally found the right PALS to complain to. Explained to them all of how I have been stuck on a low dose of levothyroxine because my tsh was high normal. How the GP is blocked from even requesting a T4 test thus won't prescribe more. Quoted

Hi everyone ❤️ Just posting this, as some members who have been following my struggle with thyroid medication these past 4 years, I decided to discontinue the T4 teva, the silly endo put me back on after taking me off the t3 which was not working due to gastric issues, forgetting also that teva t4 did

My Gabapentin Dilemma
Help! I need some advice regarding my Gabapentin treatments. This is my first post so I hope I don’t ramble too much. I’m over 70 years old with RLS for over 30-40 years. Fortunately I don’t have RLS attacks during the day but have them almost every night after I fall asleep. On high doses of Gabapentin

Should I increase T4 or T3?
Diagnosed with paroxysmal AFib in 2021 (in A&E), was on 75mcg Levo and 10mcg Liothyronine (not converting well from T4 to T3) Was doing ok with ranges of FT4 around 15 -17(12-22), FT3 around 5.2 -5.9 (3.1-6.8) and a suppressed TSH of around 0.1 – 0.005 (0.27-4.2). Was advised to drop T3 to 5mcg after

Hyper or Hypo?!
Good morning, I am not going to rewrite my entire story as it’s in my bio, but basically I was diagnosed as hyperthyroid approx six weeks ago and commenced on 20mg Carbimazole daily. I tested positive for TPO’s but neg for TRAB. I was symptomatic of hyperthyroidism. I have just had my bloods redone

Why should ft4 be at a certain percentage through reference range (mid to upper) when on T4/T3 combination therapy when T4 is inactive?
As per the subject title, if ft4 is inactive, then why do some people on T4/T3 therapy only feel good if their ft4 level is at the mid/upper level despite the fact their ft3 (active form) may be at a optimal level? Or if they are not feeling well, why are they advised to increase their Levo dosage if

More test results to understand
I have now seen an endocrinologist and had another set of tests. My TSH is not measurable at < 0.02, my FT4 is within range at 20.9 (11-22.7) and my FT3 is 5.9 (3.5 -6.5), much higher than it has ever been before. My previous results on 15/04 were TSH 0.02, FT4 23.6 (12-22), FT3 4.7 (3.1-6.8). These

blue fingers when in hot bath??
Has anyone else had this? It happen to my toes when I was in the shower the other day too. I don’t know if it’s Raynauds or my low ferritin/anemia or what. About to go for a colonoscopy this week for the anemia and a high positive FIT test but I can’t see it being linked to that.

Thyroid test results
I’ve been taking 200mg of thyroxine for most of my adult life. Now the doctors have reduced to 150mg I returned to the doctors to say I felt awful. All my symptoms were returning. So they issued another blood test. They have came back saying my TSH level is too low and reduced my dose even more.

Recommended Tracking App - Easy to use, tracks what I need to monitor for CKD
After searching for a long time and almost giving up, I finally found an app that does everything that I need. Yeah! It tracks my diet and helps me monitor my intake of Sodium, Potassium, Phosphate, Protein and Water, which is important for patients with CKD . At the same time it tracks calories

Graves - blood test
I bit the bullet and have messaged the GP this morning and requested a blood test ... I'll wait and see if they'll allow it. I realised whilst crying AGAIN in the shower this morning that something was very wrong, as I was struggling to get up again this morning, unable to go for my usual walk and crying
