hello. Mum has had iv Frusemide to off load fluid from legs and it has worked well. Now, however, her arms are swollen. Anyone else had arm swelling?

I’ve had swelling in my arm before after having a cannula in for a long period of time. This eventually settled on its own and went away with a little bit of discomfort. If she has only just been discharged from the hospital, then I would monitor it over the next couple of days. If the swelling is going down, then that’s probably an indication that it is temporary swelling from where the cannula was in for the IV. If not, make an appointment with her GP, especially if she develops new symptoms with it as well.

All the best to you & your mum. I hope she is feeling better soon.

My mum's arms became swollen after major surgery and then a heart attack. With the doctors permission I did gentle massage on her arms to help disperse the fluid, but it was a stressful time so my memory is a bit patchy.Don't hesitate to get advice from her GP, it can't be comfortable.
