Advice on upcoming holiday
Hi everyone, I am looking for advice.I have paroxysmal afib with episodes coming roughly every 4 months (I've never yet discovered the trigger and my EP says I probably never will). Anyway, I am extremely symptomatic with heart rate jumping between 80 ish to 150 ish lasting around 30 hours before reverting

Wide QRS interval
I saw a consultant last week as a follow-up to a bypass nearly six months ago and to discuss how I was getting on with bisoprolol after a switch from Sotalol. I haven’t had any AF since bisoprolol was increased to 10mg but I had some quite fast AF in December prior to that. I still get a lot of PVCs

Sotalol
Hi, all. I had an ablation for persistent afib 14 months ago and was in NSR until last month. I was put back on Sotalol 80mg and am back in NSR but they are recommending another ablation to get me off Sotalol. I know it's not the safest medication but is anyone aware of long term problems from Sotalol

Go for second ablation or Sotalol?
I am 66 and active and 13 months after my first ablation, I got Afib again. Now I need to decide between a second ablation or a more serious anti arrhythmia drug, Tikosyn or Sotalol with 2 nights hospital monitoring. I would go for the ablation if it was the last one, but it’s not guaranteed. Dr. says

Feel like a bit of a Fraud
I had an AF episode in mid January which lasted 5 hours but by the time I got to hospital everything was normal. Stayed overnight on a heart monitor - nothing, so discharged and told I would he sent a Kardiamobile app but shoukd continue living as normal. NHS then cancelled Kardiamobile and gave me

What is wrong with these drs?
Still doing great on Sotalol, so thankful for my new EP. I went to a new primary care last week, and we discussed my AF briefly. He said "why aren't you on anticoagulants?" "My EP said I don't need it at my age and with how little I get AF." He then brought it up again a short time later, "you might

Went to see my EP last night and he gave me news I didn't want to hear.I am on sotalol 40mg X3 per day plus apixaban. I have been having episodes about every 4 months but this time I have had 3 episodes, I believe triggered by the covid vaccine and the other time when I was away eating rich food, not

Cross Roads
Once again I seem to be at a cross roads on my AF journey. I have been on Sotalol for some while but recently I have been having fairly frequent episodes of AF which last for quite a while, sometimes days. Because of this I had a second ablation at the end of November but unfortunately, if anything

Betablockers from one to another
some people tolerate bishoprop and sotalol well . That was not the case for me , my blood pressure was low and in particular my rate dropped to 40. I have recently had a second ablation and am now on Amiodorone (some side effects) . If you have not suffered any side effect from bisoprop it’s worth

Re Bisoprolol to Solatol
Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to reply to my query about changing from Bisoprolol to Sotalol. I have spent a long time worrying about it as it’s true that Google gives us mixed messages about Sotalol. Of course, not all the remarks on Google are up to date, and to be frank, if you read the

Bisoprolol to Sotalol
Hi everyone. I’ve been on 10 mgs of Bisoprolol for a year, having had the dose gradually increased since my diagnosis in 2017. This drug has served me well in lowering my heart rate when it has gone into Tachycardia territory. My cardiologist has said that if my Afib bothers me me more, then as I am

Starting on Flecainide
My history is that I was first diagnosed with AF in A & E in the early hours of the morning in November 2021 after a very hot curry and half a bottle of wine. I was prescribed anti coagulants and beta blockers. I had a brief reoccurrence in March 2022 but I went back into NSR as soon as they called
