Hi Alandrea. I'm on the max dose and it's ticking the boxes ATM.

Quilter43 It's works for some and not others. It's horses for courses and may work for you or may not. Taking a med is often trail and error - talk to your Cardio if you have concerns.

Hi Alandrea l have been on Sotalol for a couple of years with no obvious side effects. Unfortunately its seems to be losing its effectiveness and is not controlling my Afib. l have now been offered Dronedarone instead but l am very reluctant to go on to this medication due to the many side effects but my options are very limited.

Thanks Paul l will have a look at the information you sent. I have been reading about possible side effects and peoples reactions to this drug. My cardiologist has recommended it to me instead of pace and ablate although l still might end up reluctantly going down that road. But anyway before starting l need to go and get some tests done including a liver function tests l would also need to go for weekly blood tests then after that they would be monthly. At this moment l am still nursing a fractured shoulder as some stomach issues so l might hold on till l feel a bit better physically.

I’ve been on dronedarone for about a year. Nothing in the way of side effects. It hasn’t stopped my tachycardia completely, but does help enormously. Sotalol stopped working for me too.
