Insomnia, Sotalol and Melatonin
I started taking Sotalol in April. Recently I have had trouble getting back to sleep after waking up at about 2 or 3 in the morning before that I have been sleeping well and have no trouble getting to sleep. I have read that beta blockers reduce your natural Melatonin and this can cause sleep troubles

Stress and afib episodes
Hi everyone. How many of you actually find stress a trigger for afib episodes? I have paroxysmal afib and normally my episodes have been around every 4 months but with a very erratic and fast heart rate. They then started at 3 months now this one has come after almost 2 months (last beginning of June

Fallen off my little pink cloud
we’ll, after a year post my last ablation, having had very little in the way of AF, it is back with avengance unfortunately. Started Thursday with increased PVCs and SVEs which developed into AF and then tachycardia/flutter at 140 bpm. I rang arrhythmia nurse who said to increase my sotalol and monitor

A DNA test, a book and a diet - my AFib Eureka moment !
First I wanted to say what a fantastic group this is and just how much it has supported, reassured and lifted me on my Afib journey, it’s been invaluable I’m a 61 year old woman with paroxysmal lone Afib, possibly SVT too. My story in brief is that I was diagnosed 3 years ago after my Fitbit showed

Not recurred in almost 5 years
I got regular bursts of self-resolving Afib since the age of 19, ten minutes here and there. During this time I was chronically low carb dieting and overexercising. My longest episode was in 2019, at age 29, where I woke up in it. Went to A&E and it self resolved about 10 hours later. Had PACs/PVCs since

Is it bad for you to just wait out an Afib spisode.
Over the last month I went into Afib 6+ times. The first one lasted about 12 hours. The next 3 I ended up in emergency and they had to cardiovert me. The 5th time lasted 24 hours. The 6th time, however, lasted 5 days. But I was so fed up with sitting in emergency for 12 hours and getting my chest blasted

Pacemaker Box Replacement
After 13 years my pacemaker is coming to the end of its useful life and I have been called for a replacement next week at my local NHS hospital. My current medication includes Apixaban, Sotalol, Candesartan and Furosemide. Past 80, little choice and am somewhat apprehensive of all that is involved. Anybody

sotalol and dairy
I have taken 80 mg of Sotalol for many year to control my Atrial Flutter . I have recently read that you should not take sotalol with any dairy products as its efficacy is diluted. Please can anyone educate me more on this . I recently had a bowl of full fat Greek yogurt shortly after taking my evening

Effects of cucurmin or curry powder on AF?
Yesterday, for the first time for a couple of years, when I monitored my pulse in the morning when feeling a bit breathlessness I found my pulse rate was 120 at rest. And my pulse was also very irregular with what was clearly noticeable AF. I confirmed this on both an oximeter/pulse meter and my

Don't let AF get in the way of a Normal Life
A couple of months ago having posted about 2 AF episodes and being subscribed Edoxaban and Sotalol, I asked what anyone thought of my plan to walk 120 miles in the Alps. I had various responses from "don't do it" to "go for it". I did the latter and have just finished walking the Tours des Ecrins National

Sotalol and troubles breathing
I would like to reach out to see if anybody has ever had similar experience as I do at present. After 7 cardioversions and 2 ablations I was eventually and surprisingly converted to sinus 7months ago with Sotalol(amiodarone and flecainide failed to do so) and remained in sinus since. I am very active

Low blood pressure
Does anyone have low BP most of the time?I am taking sotalol which I think is reducing my BP, but I am concerned my vital organs are not getting the blood supply they need My doctors don't seem to be concerned as I don't have any symptoms and my bloods are ok on last review. My doctor says I am lucky

Anyone take amioderone?
With my ablation on the 14th July and the recently prescribed Sotalol not really reducing my heart rate, I've been put on to Amioderone and a lower dose of Bisoprolol (2.5mg) which I only came off a month ago as it made me feel so rubbish. Apparently it's to get my heart back nearer normal in prep for

Wide QRS interval
I saw a consultant last week as a follow-up to a bypass nearly six months ago and to discuss how I was getting on with bisoprolol after a switch from Sotalol. I haven’t had any AF since bisoprolol was increased to 10mg but I had some quite fast AF in December prior to that. I still get a lot of PVCs

Sotalol
Hi, all. I had an ablation for persistent afib 14 months ago and was in NSR until last month. I was put back on Sotalol 80mg and am back in NSR but they are recommending another ablation to get me off Sotalol. I know it's not the safest medication but is anyone aware of long term problems from Sotalol
