Flecainide causing bowel soreness?
Since taking Flecainide I've been plagued with a soreness in my bowels. During the summer my EP changed me briefly for about 6 weeks to Sotalol and the soreness disappeared. However, Sotalol did not control my heart so I went back on Flec. Has anyone else experienced this and if so what did you do to

Trip to GP about Amiodarone
Hi update on my previous post. My GP called to see me before writing prescription for Amiodarone I spoke to her about my fears and she agreed to contact my cardiologist to intimate my fears of the side effects and discuss other options like being referred to an EP consultant for a further consultation

Now prescribed Amiodarone
Just seen my cardiologist today who has now prescribed Amiodarone. He did discuss AV node ablation but wanted to try this medication first, I took Flecainide for 20+ years and then Sotalol in the last year. Having had a TIA at the end of August as a consequence of my AF I am now on Apixabam and my cardiologist

Third ablation, lots of palpitations.
Hi there. Been a while since my last post. After the ablation for AVNRT in 2014, I underwent a second one in january this year (LVOT) and another one just 12 days ago (20th October). My cardio tried to burn a point in the RVOT which gives me palpitations when doing an effort like brisk walking. Unfortenately

Unused Medication
I took Sotalol for a short time recently and before I could use a new batch that had been delivered, I was changed back on to Flecainide by my EP. This morning I took the packets of Sotalol (120 tabs) out of the cupboard intending to take them back to the pharmacy, but knowing that they would go straight

The Trouble with AFib
i am from the states and enjoy these post very much. The method of treatment in a lot of cases is different in this country than in the UK or Australia I have had AFib for over 5 years. Started horribly with a rate of over 268, put in ICU (contrary to popular belief AFib can kill you) drugs stopped

Diltiazem
Hello, I had a PVI 12 months ago, and after initially taking Sotalol was changed to Diltiazem 120 twice a day. This has worked quite well until about a week ago when I have begun to have what I can only describe as hot flushes after taking the meds and frequent visits to the loo. Just wondering if

Warfarin plus vitamin K2 (MK4 and MK7)
I am taking warfarin and sotalol following ablation for afib--works very well. POST STROKE AF
I am new to this site and find it very informative and reassuring I started getting a rapid heartbeat about 5/6 years ago. This began when my mother was diagnosed with cancer. Eventually I was referred to a cardiologist. An ECG revealed nothing. I then had a 24hour/7 day monitor. This revealed paroxysmal

Sotalol - resting heart rate rising over time normal?
Hi all, I was prescribed Sotalol in May, after I was diagnosed with AF It made me feel quite tired to start off with (first 4 weeks) but now (July), I am feeling more 'back to normal'. I wear a Fitbit type monitor, that monitors my heart rate. What I have noticed is that initially when I started taking

Part of a New Research Study
I had my third ablation on 6th July and a few days before I was asked if I would be part of a new research study for an oesophageal-pacing catheter. A wire is passed via the nose to the oesophagus and positioned behind the left atrium. They then see if they can pace the heart (speed the rate up) with
