Sotalol and Asthma
Hi Asking for a friend... He Afib has returned, 6 months after his third and final ablation. He was restarted on Sotalol 80 mg twice daily and is very unwell. Unable to sleep but exhausted shortness of breath and very asthmatic I understand Flecainide can also induce asthma? Anyone have any experience

Headaches and feeling drugged.
Hi all, following my AF diagnosis several months ago , I didn't have any side effects from the Sotalol or Apixaban. I was on a small dose of Ramapril for diabetes. Lately blood pressure has been a problem and GP has gradually been increasing the Ramipril each month. I was ok at 7.5 mg but now on max

My feelings after ablation surgery
I had a fib ablation and flutter ablation on Jun 6, 2017 and I feel so much better. Got out of hospital on Wednesday and was back to work on Thursday. I've been able to work out 5 times a week and I teach a spin class once a week. All I take is Eliquis. Doctor took me off of Sotalol. I feel so

Can GPs' manage PAF
I was admitted to A and E last November with AF and stabilised with drugs over the next 3 days, Sotalol and Abixaban. Then discharged with a echogram and 24 monitor to follow. Saw my EP later who said alls well and discharged me back to GP. Blood pressure climbed for some odd reason and given Ramapril

Amiodarone or Sotalol
Thank you all for your feedback about Amiodarone. I went to see EP and only saw his registrar. He jotted down side effects but told me I have to wait till EP comes back from hols. He mentioned Soltalol and said I might be better off on that. I am not a candidate for ablation so thats out. As I said before

Speedy heart
I have Afib and high blood pressure, I was just in the hospital for the AFIB. I was put on SOTALOL and taken off Carvedilol and Diltiazem, I also am still taking Losartan, Eliquis, Atorvastatin and 81mg aspirin. Will these meds keep my blood pressure and Afib under control?

How serious is serious
Hi posted a couple of times on this site and had brilliant advice. I am now on the list for a cryoablation at Leicester with a four month wait so potentially November None of the drugs supplied bisoporol sotalol and flecanide appear to have any impact and attacks are every 2/3 days lasting 8 to 12 hours

Increased heart rate after AF ablation
Has anyone had a similar experience? Two weeks after my ablation my resting heart rate shot up from 75-80 to 120-130 bpm. After 24 hours it had not gone down, so I saw my GP who ran an ECG and confirmed that my heart rate was high. He suggested that I increase my Sotalol medication from 80mg a day to

Saying hello.
I was diagnosed with AF end of last year, after having to go to A&E (ambulance)with high pulse rate 150 ppm and low blood pressure. I had had several episodes in the year whilst tending my late wife with cancer but none as bad as the last. I take Apixaban 5MG twice a day , Sotalol 80MG twice a day and

Morning all. Hospital appointment last week due to increase in ectopics and AF frequency. I am being kept on Sotalol and told to increase from 40mg twice a day to 80mg in morning and 40mg at night. Have any of you been on thus dosage and did you experience more side effects. So worried about starting

Succumbed to A/C
After putting it off since I was first diagnosed 5 years ago I've finally succumbed to anti coagulation and selected Apixaban. I now await to see how I take to it. I was 65 at the end of last year but have no comorbidities and so score 1 on the CHADvasc2 scale. Previously, the GPs I had seen advised

Sotalol 40 mg
My cardiologist is a very good and caring individual who goes the extra mile for you. I was surprised when he suggested moving away from Bisoporol and Flecanide and suggested Sotalol to combat my AF and Atrial Flutter He explained that there could be side effects and I was started on a low dose (40mgx2

Sotalol and Neuropathy
Hi, I have been on Sotalol since May last year (2016). Starting in November '16 I noticed my feet getting quite red, I thought it might be my shower doing it. After about 2 months the whole of my foot was red and a ring of red around my ankles, like wearing a short sock, appeared on both feet then a

Just been diagnosed with AF
Hi All, I have found everything on this site so helpful in the past week since I have been diagnosed with AF. For me it was a shock which made me very emotional and scared. I had never heard of it. To hear that so many others have had the experience has helped me come to term with it! Thank you. Since
