Hai, I'm Catherine (user names were gone so I just typed whatever worked). I've been "skulking" around here since I gave myself a concussion in November. I stay quiet cause I don't really think I have much to offer folk on here... there are folk worse off than me and "it's only a concussion" (...that's

Blood test results Progesterone/Oestradiol, liver etc
Hi, please can anyone offer any advice on my test results. I did the test 8 days after ovulation. I wanted the sex hormones tested 7 days after ovulation but my period was a day late. I'm seeing my GP later on this week, but I never really trust them with interpreting results. I had the blood test

IBS-D/C and GORD/GERD history along with meds concerns
Today I'm here to give an update to my IBS issues. I suffered with IBS-D for years, beginning around 2002. Most of the time it occurred with just occasional episodes of constipation and interspersed with some 'normal movements'. I couldn't ever figure it's pattern if anything in particular was at issue

What the Hell is going on here? Norfolk's Endo's won't even see my wife for her Hashi's "Can't/Won't do anything" Outrageous!
I had blood tests last September which confirms I have auto-immune thyroiditis (Hashimoto’s). Plus other issues which may be drug interaction related. I asked for a referral to the local NHS Endocrinologists (Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and was given a Choose and Book set up where there were

Fluctuations in Creatinine and Urea
I had 2/3's of my thyroid removed in June. At the time my Creatinine, Urea and Bloods where all fine (100, 6.4, Hb 135). Since the operation my TSH increased from .6 to 4.5, my Creatinine went to 160 then back to 130 within a few weeks, my Urea increased to 11.8 and now it's back to 6.5, my Hb went from

Metastasis-Free Survival in Prostate Cancer: Faster Drug Approvals, Better Drugs?
New paper below. Does improved metastasis-free survival (MFS) translate into longer overall survival (OS)? What if resistance to a drug that delays metastasis, causes a reduction in post-MFS survival? The result might be a wash or even a shortening of OS. -Patrick http://ascopubs.org/doi/full/10.1200

New Nephrologist!
If any of you remember, the first nephrologist I saw scared me to death. When I asked if diet would slow my progression of ckd and he coldly said nothing would help because my kidneys were shrinking, it was irreversible and progressive. I saw a younger nephrologist yesterday and even though he said

Left sided pain and blockage feeling
TL;DR – Have painful left sided tummy cramps, feeling of stool blockage at the same site. Very soft stools, all tests and scopes return normal. Tried IBS supplements, diet change, painkillers, fibre supplements. This is something which has been bugging me for the better part of a couple of months now

Night cramps 😢 and Night heat
Cramp in my legs and feet nearly every night. So painful I can barely move my leg an inch. I've tried massage, altering my electric bed so's raising my legs, lowering my legs, cold, heat. I am at a loss of what to do next or how to stop it happening in the 1st place. I do suffer with very low sodium

Thanks for TTT(Tummy trouble tips)
I am a bit teary that so many of you lovely ladies have replied with humour, sympathy and practical advice to my post. A diet full of what might be seen as unhealthy foods is appealing - who doesn’t like cake and jelly babies ? Imodium seems to be helping more today than it has done for the previous

Sitz Bath ingredients
Does anyone have a favourite oil or ingredient to add into their sitz bath? I looked it up on Google and there was a long list from Epsom salts to witch hazel. Does anyone have their favourite, if not for the sitz bath, for an ordinary bath (pardon the denigration 🤣). Lesley

Hi ive been ill for a while but managed to get out the house today and get blood results. Although GP did request FT3/FT4, they did not do them. I was told that from now on if your TSH is within range they will not check regardless if GP requests it or not. TSH 0.62 Range mu/L 0.27 - 4.20mu/L CHOLESTEROL

I wonder if you can help. I have no thyroid, cancerous removal and presumably being suppressed. I am not totally happy on 125 levotyroxine because of problems controlling weight which I manage most of the time but eat very little and most of the right GI foods etc., loads of exercise, hair loss (male

do you really know what you’re eating?
Ive done a lot of research on dieting and food over the years and I learned that there are many things I see people calling healthy that aren’t. I don’t necessarily blame anyone for not realizing, many millennials and gen z kids (especially americans) didn’t really learn practical life skills in school
