I went off ADT 9 months ago after 6 months of Elegard depot treatment following prostate radiation. I know that many of the side effects of ADT can persist months and even years after stopping Elegard (Lupron). But I seem to have developed new symptoms (breast sensitivity and sciatica) 6 months after

Return of Armpit Odor - Yikes!!!
For almost two years, I (and others! š) have noticed the absence of male armpit odor. Attributable to full ADT (for metastatic PCa) and suppression of testosterone. (I'm on Triplet Therapy.) This morning I was surprised to notice odor for the first time since diagnosis. Due shortly for blood panel including

Estrogen vs ADT?
I've read 5 recent papers that discuss the use of estrogen as an alternative treatment to ADT (Lupron, etc.). The new data looks very favorable. A bit of history. Huggins discovered this effect around 1941-44, and he found that high doses of estrogen (estradiol) efficiently castrated men, which

DEXA scan result Poor. What to do about T3? Endocrinologist unhappy with suppressed TSH even before DEXA. How do I advocate for myself now?!
Afternoon All, Iāve just received a letter from my Second Opinion Endocrinologist with the results of my first ever DEXA scan. She is not happy. T Scores (no idea what any of this means, btw!): -1.6 L spine, -0.4 total hip, -0.9 NOF A few months back I was told by Endocrinologist One to reduce my

Age and timing for Triplet therapy?
I am age 81, active and neither fit nor frail, radiated in 2021 without hormone therapy. Radiated again in 2023 for a pelvic node. In December the PSA rose to 3.78 and a PSMA-PET scan showed cancer growing in prostate, shrinking in pelvic node, and spread to one abdominal node. I started ADT with

perineural Invasion
My prostate biopsy has discovered perineural invasion (cancer along nerves) in 4 out of 6 sites with Gleason Score 9 in half of my prostate. This is associated with a significantly worse prognosis for survival. What are experiences of other men with this diagnosis? I am 84, in good health, and preparing

Statin use and mortality risk in men on ADT.
New ADT study from Hong Kong (1). "A total of 4920 patients were included, consisting of 2578 statin users and 2342 non-users (mean age 76.1 Ā± 8.2 years). Over a mean follow-up period of 4.2 Ā± 3.3 years, it was observed that statin users had significantly lower risks of both PCa-related mortality

My decision on Radiotherapy -v- Prostatectomy
I hope this story might be useful to others. I'm based in the UK and had a PSA of 12.7 from a test in June 2023. That led to an MRI in August with a PI-RADS of 5 with irregularity on the front of the prostate. I eventually had a biopsy at the end of September after 3 cancellations (this was through the

Eligard and loss of taste
I have been on Eligard since the end of December 2023 and finished 28 IMRT sessions for my Gleason 9 non-metastatic PC Besides the usual loss of libido, fatigue and hot flushes, I have also experienced a diminished ability to taste. I also have this change in my tongue and mouth with a yukky taste.

PSA Risen in Last 6 months
Have been on here a week ago, explaining that my husband (who was diagnosed 10years ago) has now been diagnosed with Gastroporesis, so not eating much due to constant nausea and vomiting. We are due to see his Urologist in 2 weeks time, so had the dreaded PSA blood test. It had been almost undetectable

After bicalutimide and a high testosterone level is pre treatment T just guess work?
Just turning to fellow travellers on our various journeys for some input/advice/ thoughts as I make a decision on how far to push to the SOC for my high risk G9, given my oncologist is saying 15 months adjuvant (I am nervous of anything less than 18 months) is enough given my co morbidities, age at 73

Divergent second opinion
My husband was recently diagnosed with PCa with 6-7 mets to the bones as seen on the PSMA Pet scan (see profile for details), The first MO we met at an NCCN center recommended triplet therapy. He has started Firmagon + Darulotomide with Docetaxel planned in the coming weeks. We also got a second opinion
