Sleeping kidney after transplant
Hi, My partner has just had a kidney transplant 6 days ago. He is 31 years old. He had 9% function before he received the kidney and wasn’t on dialysis beforehand. He’s in hospital and due to Covid he’s alone and I can’t go. He’s not great at talking to Doctors and I’m not getting any information. His

Blood in stool and dull pain near coccyx. What to expect?
I am a 27 year old guy. First time I've had blood with my stool without any pain was a month ago. There was a lot of blood with some small clot. My PCP doctor seems to think its a internal hemorrhoids and I started taking a lot of fiber, eat healthy and working out light exercise everyday as I always

Liver Transplant
A question, and I know that everyone is different. How long does the pain, tightness and general uncomfortable feelings last after having a transplant? I know I’ve added to my malaise by developing an infection where my gallbladder used to be (removed during the transplant) but the pain is still bad

So....now an infection.
Had blood test tue, phone call from surgeon wed-go back for investigations as ALT elevated on blood results. He mentioned stents, liver rejection and told me not to worry. Pain is still absolutely hellish. So of course couldn’t sleep for worrying, even told my husband I need to go home to Scotland urgently

Im new to this... Could my symptoms be an indication of colon cancer?
Hi everyone, I'm a 21 year old female and I am starting to worry that I might have colon cancer. When I was in 10th-11th grade (2016), I often experienced very bad achy pains in my abdomen just a few inches above my navel. This was usually followed by bloody stools. Although alarming, It would come and

Symptoms that are similar to colon cancer that aren’t hemorrhoids but something else??
I am not looking for a medical diagnosis. Just peoples experiences. Have you had symptoms that minic colon cancer symptoms (blood in stool, change of bowel habits, inconsistent stool, loss of appetite, weight loss, etc.) and found out that you had something other then cancer that was not hemorrhoids

Tinnitus from Cisplatin chemotherapy
Hello Ovacome community, Has anyone experience of tinnitus as a result of receiving Cisplatin, or another chemo ( seems to be side affect of platinum chemos). This hissing started last Thursday, it’s loud and distressing causing hearing impairment. It’s constant. I had cycle 2 of Cisplatin & Etoposide

A little bit of historical nonsense
Alcohol has become so inbred into our culture and I find the history of alcohol within our society rather interesting. It’s also fascinating to see just how times have changed over the years. Especially as more recently, the drinking of alcohol has become less sociable, and more self-indulgent due to

Just miserable...
I am in such pain following this liver transplant. Been home almost a week it’s nearly 3 wks since the operation. No let up in this goddamn awful pain. Plus I can’t sleep not even a wink. And now constipated. Eating dates, guzzling cosmocol , and feeling really really hellish. When does this ease off
