After 2 weeks hospitalized post transplant, my friend is home after his kidney transplant, and removal of both diseased kidneys. He lives alone. His adult daughter was here from out of state for 3 weeks including his 2 week stay after transplant. I've come down for another week to help him out. My question is this: are there any organizations or resources available for Post-transplant patients to utilize, short term, to assist with tasks he's unable to do himself at the moment (laundry, cleaning, picking up/bringing groceries)?

I would suggest you check with his transplant social worker, they will know if those types of resources are available in his area.
Yes, KidneyBham is right. Your transplant center's social worker is the place to start. She/he should be able to refer him also. - If he has Medicare, you have for 3 years due to end stage renal disease, they may offer some home health care.
- Most grocery stores offer delivery, now especially due to COVID . He can order & pay online. Over a certain dollar amount stores in our area deliver for free. One charges a flat rate. Just give your local stores a call
- Does he belong to a church? Some offer assist with grocery pickup and have volunteers that are willing to o some home chores. Before we moved, I was a volunteer in a congregation. I had helped a young Mom with a 2-year old and just had given birth to triplets with her laundry.
- Sometimes you just need to ask around....
