So....now an infection.

Had blood test tue, phone call from surgeon wed-go back for investigations as ALT elevated on blood results. He mentioned stents, liver rejection and told me not to worry. Pain is still absolutely hellish. So of course couldn’t sleep for worrying, even told my husband I need to go home to Scotland urgently, bugger lockdown, if news is not good.

Hosp early this morning, scan, sat in car park with husband waiting on results. An infection where my gallbladder used to be, collecting fluid. So antibiotics back to hosp next tue.

Coincidentally, the antibiotics also help UTI’s which has now been confirmed.

So still in hellish pain (might be the infection??), constipated (lactulose not quite kicked in fully yet) and feeling the need to urinate every 30-40 mins.

From what I was told today this is apparently to be expected and nothing to be seriously concerned about other than trying to manage pain in my case with paracetamol. Is that what others who’ve had liver transplants have encountered too?

But.......now back hone in my own bed. So happy days!

Thanks, I appreciate your reply. Not so sure that I have though as the transplant team reassure me that it’s quite common. So I can’t complain too much! But I do think I should get a badge or at the very least a sticker! Thanks for all that you and your colleagues do on this site, it’s been a lifeline for me at the min.
