Hi, i joined this group a few months ago. I was diagnosed Dec '21 after being hospitalised because my sats were so low 70-80 at that time. Then it was a whirwind of tests before I got my complete diagnosis with the letter from my consultant with all that fev % stuff at the end of the letter. i went

Osteoporosis treatment post transplant
I'm post Kidney Transplant with many problems, and one is Osteoporosis. My Endocrinologist wanted to put me on Reclast and I declined. Now, he wants to put me on Prolia. There seems to be many side effects to this also. I was on Fosomax and had many bad abdominal side effects. I'm told these are my

Good news , maybe we don’t have to wait for a liver transplant after all. I didn’t realise that machines existed that can carry out the function of the liver, at this stage they are external like kidney dialysis. Would think you have to hooked up permanently as the liver is always working.

Hello everyone. transplant with no social support?
I have an appointment to discuss lung transplant but I have no real social support, just one elderly sibling. I did mention this to the girl on the phone but she was very breezy about it and just said when I'd had the transplant I wouldn't be let out of hospital until I was ok and the transplant would

THE “C” WORD
Before I get kicked off this forum, “C” stands for Cirrhosis. And yes on my ultrasound report it mentions the dreaded “C” word. But there really is no difference between Cirrhosis and fybrosis except the degree of fybrosis at some arbitrary stage is classed as Cirrhosis. Immediately we hear or see

Does anyone have experience of Lenvatinib as a treatment for liver cancer?
I was diagnosed with liver cancer at the end of September last year, 2022. After a scan I was told that I had one large tumour and several smaller ones, that the large tumour was near the main artery and was of a size that ruled out conventional treatment, liver transplant, radiotherapy, embolisation

Stoma reversal
I have just had a liver transplant and went back for my first check up, everything is going so well so far. While I was waiting for my liver transplant I had an emergency Stoma surgery and had a bag fitted, the surgeon that gave me my first check up for my liver said in about six months or so they will

RA and live flu vaccine
HiMy daughter has rung to say my 2 year old grandson has just had a live flu vaccine. She said the GP has said to avoid people with very compromised immune systems, eg. they said, having bone marrow transplants, for a week. She asked if it was safe for them to see me and was told they had no guidance

My Recovery so far post Stem cell Transplant
Sorry I've been absent for so long, my stem cell transplant journey has been a difficult one to be honest and only now do I feel able to be able to tell the story so far. Thank you to everyone who kindly messaged me to see how I was and apologies for asking so long to respond. I really appreciated
