So my husband went to the hospital today they said his GFR has dropped from 32 about a month ago now it’s 27, his creatinine is 216 umo1/L Sodium 140mmo1/L Potassium 3.9mmo1/L So maybe you could shine more light on it for me. Thank you

Desatting during attacks
So I got quite ill. Went down to 87% in the ambulance, struggled to get my sats up even with oxygen driven neb. Got discharged anyway. Is this normal? Been in and out of A&E multiple times this week alone. Admitted twice since the start of the year, etc. I'm really struggling even now. My sats still

CKD minerals and labs?
Hello. New here and new to ckd. I’m just wondering, with your lab results, when you have high potassium do you also have high everything else? Sodium calcium etc? Asking because my dad has consistently high potassium and low sodium. But right now he’s having mild edema on his legs. Our nephro keeps saying

Low protein diet article
Low protein diets were discovered to help CKD and to postpone kidney failure as far back as the 19th century. Now it seems to be touted as a new approach. I found the article interesting. I was looking up diets to increase my protein since it's below normal on my last bloodwork and came across this

Hello everyone, any exercise or activity such as a shower severely impairs my breathing. This has worsened considerably over the past yearI manage this at home by resting between activities and TaiChi breathing. Outside I can walk slowly when accompanied but tend to feel panicky when alone. In a shop

The strangest place this 5 and 1/2 year journey has taken me to date.
I was diagnosed in june of 2016 with a 9 gleason score. Had rad prostectomy, then salvage. Followed by 18mos of milage from zytiga and a Brief minute with xtandi, until it failed. Onward, to a couple of clinical trials, Bombesin which failed miserbly putting me in the hospital. Then the harpoon

Salt or no salt
Just after I had 2 stents fitted just over 4 years ago, I was advised to cut salt out of my diet as it was considered that there was enough salt in the food already. Recently had a blood test that reveals that I’m low in sodium. Anyone shed any light on this? Cheers.

Is this diet book any good?
I received an email from Amazon recommending this diet book for polymyalgia. I have read on this forum how members find a low carb diet to be beneficial, but this diet recommends low fat and meat and suggests it might even help to cure PMR and prevent GCA. I have copied the summary below. What do members

This will take ages, I know … Federal Parliament is sitting at the moment, an election is looming, and our current Health Minister is retiring after the election. Not a good
