I also had a switch from Tacrolimus to
Sirolimus
. Both of these meds help with the GVHD. However the Tacro was affecting my kidney function and may have been responsible for the increased edema. Siro is a little milder med. Day 35 I noticed some sores in my mouth, mostly inside of the lips.

What do you think about "Rapamycin"
- here is an interesting homepage about it. I plan to first test 1mg / week for a few months... It should also stop the aging process! :-) https://rapamycintherapy.com/

Protein in Urine
I received my transplant a little over three years ago, and am taking everolimus (a variant of
sirolimus
), prednisone and mycophenolic acid (myfortic). Recently my labs showed proteinuria (protein in the urine). I understand that this can indicate the beginning of organ failure.

Sirolimus - mouth sores!
My transplant meds were recently changed to
sirolimus
, Bela and low dose prednisone. I have developed these incredibly painful mouth sores! Makes eating difficult. I was prescribed valcyte and magic mouth wash neither of which seem to be very helpful. Anyone else out there experienced this?
