Asthma during respiratory infections
Hi, I've been asthmatic since I was 2 years old and am now considerably older than that. Despite 45 years of experience I really don't have a good understanding of what to expect from asthma management. I use a low dose Flixotide preventer inhaler every day and salbutamol when required. Day to day you

it feels like I'll never get better
Hi! I've had constant air hunger every day since June. During my early teens, I was diagnosed with asthma caused by cats. I got prescribed Ventolin which I used when in contact with cats, it helped. I never had any other issues with asthma. As I was young, the allergy tests only confirmed me being

childhood asthma
hi all, I had childhood asthma which completely left as I was 12. However it came back last year when I got food poisoning. I constantly feel like air hunger, wheezing and chest tightness. It makes me so anxious I feel like I could have lung cancer which makes no sense I have a blue inhaler and

Covid causing Asthma flare
I had Covid nearly two weeks ago and I've been left with this lingering cough and occasional breathlessness and I've also been finding that I'm using my Ventolin inhaler more, my chest doesn't feel tight but sometimes i just get very out of breath and it's hard to catch my breath. I've found that box

No More Ventolin?
Just put my repeat prescription in to be told Ventolin can't be issued because I already have a regular inhaler, the RelvarEllipta. I have talked myself hoarse explaining that the Relvar is a MAINTENANCE inhaler and the Ventolin is a RELIEVER inhaler without getting anywhere. I've literally just had

Visiting Japan / Tree Pollen
Hi everyone, my daughter is doing a year abroad in Japan for her university course and I am contemplating making the trip of a lifetime next year with my husband to go there, maybe early March or in May, to see her and see a bit of the country. Incorrect Hospital Records
I have demonstrated >20% variability in peak flow readings, have presented with wheeze, chest tightness, coughing, shortness of breath, there are ct scans and X-rays which note asthma, consistent with asthma etc and responded to medication when it was first initiated by my GP hence my original

I like knowing the details but I often find he skims over any details of tests etc and gives me the bare minimum, and generally very positive and minimising (when I have very

). I notice this with other doctors too.

trimbow in asthma
Just started on trimbow after using Spiriva Respimat and Symbicort, and the steroid component is just not enough to keep my asthma under control. Has anyone ever used it together with fostair or symbicort? I know one isn't supposed to but maybe some consultants prescribe two steroid inhalers? Thank

How would a rational person deal with this? What would be their thought process?
This has been going on a while now maybe I am too dumb to rationally reduce my anxiety. Basically I have had the condition Chronic rhinosinitis with polyps since I was 23. Twelve years later I have been under ent had ct scans which have shown some sinus thickening, they said it didn’t look too bad

fostair to seretide
Hi, following an asthma review prompted by an exacerbation I’ve been moved from fostair 200/6 x 2 twice a day to seretide 125 x 2 twice a day. Started 48 hrs ago and just had a horrible night with coughing @ midnight, 02.00 and 04.00 am. Chest doesn’t feel quite right now but not coughing much. PF normal

Fracture Risk

untreated or poorly controlled asthma is also very harmful and can be fatal.

Phyllocontin my story
Hi Jim here, Basically I’m 50 and was on Phyllocontin from about 10 years old and my asthma was completely controlled. About 10 years ago I was told it couldn’t be prescribed this anymore, and got the ‘there are better inhalers lecture’ ‘you shalt see asthma nurse’ thing. Ever since then my asthma has
