Asthma, panic, what?
Hi there. I posted a while back because I'd been signed off for 3 weeks because of stress/asthma. My 3 weeks off made a big difference and was just resorting to ventolin now and then as opposed to every day. I'd only been back at work for a few weeks when they said they were making me redundant. Reaction to seretide?
After a review with the GP, I've been put onto Seretide Accuhaler, but since taking it for the first time this morning I've had a tingly prickly feeling in one side of my face, with a little bit of swelling (and a very red ear!). Spoken to the pharmacist & will speak to the doctor tomorrow about it,

Loss of Voice when trying to Train!!!!!
Hi all, I'm sure Im not the only one who has this problem - don't suppose that i'll be the last either!!! I've been having to take my ventolin rather alot recently mainly due to hayfever and the fact that I seem to have become extremely sensitive to irritants. I also have to take Seretide twice a day

New(ish) to Asthma with erratic peak flow
Hi I’m fairly new to asthma, having been diagnosed with it in May this year after a bout of viral pneumonia in March and then an upper respiratory tract infection, tonsilitis and laryngitis. I’ve had a couple of colds as well (which really affect the peak flow readings) but don’t seem to last

Amazing Asthma UK Nurses
A few weeks ago I was at the end of my tether feeling tight chested pretty much all the time with a consultant telling me it was mostly in my head. A friend who works for a charity suggested I call Asthma UK, which I'd never really considered before. The lady I spoke to was really nice and gave me

ventolin with counter ?
Am I the only one who wish they would make ventolin with a counter, its certainly possible as they make seretide with one, but ventolin would make more sense, as it's not frequently used, and difficult to keep track of.

Chest infection and asthma
Hi guys. I'm new to the site and after a bit of advice on any experiences with a chest infection kicking the asthma into overdrive. I'm guessing my infection is viral cos the different antibiotics I've been on haven't shifted it. How long do you reckon a viral infection should last? This one is still

early life crisis, depression or stress!
This is a slightly grim and down beat post - I apologise in advance but i think a lot of us might be feeling the same way. Im currently reading through the leaflets to my meds to see if there is a link to meds and my grey cloud feeling. I cant help but feel like I want everything to change. No more

Off Work....AGAIN!
I'm off work again... this year has been a total nightmare. Hospitalised in April, off work for a week in June and July, and now I have the start of yet another flare up. Just been on the phone crying to mum, my lungs feel as if they are now properly broken and I won't be able to live a normal life ever

Laryngitis + inhalers
Since I was put on symbicort a couple of years ago, i've had 2 bouts of layngitis, the 1st time, my voice went completely, the 2nd time, i could just about whisper. Although I'm now on seretide, my voice still isn't right, altho i was never a brilliant singer, now it's nearly impossible to get some

Ventolin makes me sleepy
Hi everyone, first post here. I was diagnosed last November and use Seretide which keeps things under control accept when I get a cold (like now). I use Ventolin sometimes but don't generally need it (judging by the other posts I guess I am very lucky). However one side effect I have noticed (apart from

Tripped up...
OK I am just really looking for some ideas, not really medical diagnosis, but maybe some ideas on where I go from here. The situation as it stands is: Over the last 2 years, my asthma just seems to have gotten more and more aggressive and I even got to the point where I was being admitted or seen in

Reducing Seretide
At my last appointment with the asthma nurse, she suggested reducing the Seretide but didn't really give me any advice. Any suggestions how I should go about it and how long the process should take? I normally take 2 puffs twice a day, so yesterday I had 2 puffs in the morning then 1 puff in the evening

Fostair
Hi, I've just been given Fostair, I've been on pred 2 weeks, start week 3 tomorrow now down to 20mg. My doc says I'm to take 4 puffs am and pm for a few days then down to 2 puffs am and pm. I'm a little worried as it says max dose 4 puffs daily. I know we have had to give my Son huge doses of seretide
