hi,

i was put on this about 4yrs ago. i was only on it for the summer months and it really helped me. i was then lowered back down to a lower dose and now i'm on seretide 125, but if hayfever kicks in and its a warm dry summer i will probably be upped again.

love it...well it works!!

Hi

i did this switch too. Its excellent compared to symbicort - you wont get immediate results but say after a week or two there is a noticable change.

Device wise much much better as it does not clog as much i had a real problem with the turbo halers clogging mainly my reliever (which was a bircanyl turbo haler) as i ended up not getting a proper dose.

the seretide 500 is stronger just make sure you gargle or brush your teeth to avoid the hoarse voice etc etc.

Like amy said you can drop your dose too. they come in 250 and 100 in a powder form i think...

Hi I'm on max dose of 250 for next fortnight as for some reason, all my symptoms have come back.

I'd been on Symbicort 200/6 last few months but having to take more and more of it. So far on 250, so good.

Good luck with the 500.

yep. Ventolin is also in the mix.

Hi just wanted to reply to your pm. i could not reply via pm. i am currently on an extreme dose of medications in terms of a reliever i do use Ventolin but at the moment its sort of ultimately me using it three times a day. but i only use the dry powder accuhaler's, is yours a evohaler?

Seretide 500

I have been put back on the Seretide 250 after trying Fostair and back on Seretide but I did not like the white stuff in your mouth not good but get the cherry stuff to go around the roof of your mouth.

Hi i just wanted to reply to your pm. about the amount of Ventolin your using the best thing would be to discuss this with your doctor as they can increase the dose and maybe change the device. how good is your technique?

Hi

I've been using Seretide 500 for my worsening asthma for a few years now without any visble side effects. Previously, I was prescribed Flixotide, which didn't seem to control my symptoms very well at all.

I have definitely noticed an improvement in my asthma since starting this treatment. Hope it works for you.
