A couple of questions relating to asthma medication (seretide and salbutamol)
Hey I'm sorry I know this is all probablly common knowledge but am just looking to pick brains for a bit of information before I see asthma nurse on Tuesday. I was at asthma nurse on Thursday due to peak flow being at 60% of my usual peak flow, I know it's not really low but I had been taking salbutamol

Use of spacer device, confused?
Hi, I have recently started using seretide from an MDI and spacer device, this is the first time I have used a spacer device as previously I had used symbicort but it had got to the point where it was affecting my voice too much. My asthma nurse told me to take 5 breaths when using the spacer whereas

So fed up with this! Any advice welcome.
My asthma has been poorly controlled for around a year. I'm on my second course of prednisolone in that time and although I'm a good two days into the course my symptoms (which had settled very quickly) have flared up again tonight - really wheezy and tight chested - and I have no idea why, which is

Change of inhaler
For the last couple of months I've had the cough and my asthma generally speaking hasn't been under as good control as it once has been. Before it's usually been a change of inhaler so that's what I decided with the asthma nurse. At the time she said I shouldn't be on symbicort 400/12, unfortunately

seretide.
I'm currently taking seretide 500 twice a day as a dry powder inhaler. it's working ok and I'm not having the side effects which I was while I was taking seretide 250 4 times a day. I'm getting a really sore mouth from it, I'm washing my mouth out after using it. is there anything you can do to try prevent

Need a rant to people who understand!
Hi everyone! This is my first post on here but I've been reading the forum for a while and feel like I may as well join in! I was diagnosed with asthma when I was 13 but mostly got my symptoms around horses and eventually got to the point where I had to give up my horse and everything to do with them

Tight chest but no other symptoms
2 and a half weeks ago I was taken off my seretide by my doctor and given just salbutamol and serevent to see if the seretide is what has been effecting my voice. Yesterday I started with a bit of a tight chest but today it feels like someone is sitting on the centre of my chest. The salbutamol isn't

Seretide success?
Hi everyone, I hope you and yours are all doing well. As predicted, Leo's asthma started to flare up over the weekend, about 8 wks after his last hospital admission. This time I started him on his emergency preds straight away (well, a day after his symptoms began because the first day I wasn't sure

Steroid Therapy
I have a relative who has just been prescribed a second consecutive course of steroid tablets (6 a day first course and 8 a day second course) At present I am not sure whether there is a ‘tailing off’ towards the end of each course as I was myself always given to understand that you do not stop abruptly

Asthma - making me fat and unhappy
Hello all, I'm new to the forums so thanks for reading my post. Basically, I've had asthma since I was a baby (now 21) and had it reasonably well controlled first with nebs and then just inhalers. However over the last 10 months it has got a LOT worse - gone from mild symptoms to almost constant wheezing
