went to docs on Thurs with my pet elephant on my chest doc put me on steroids and then changed my inhaler to seretide. from fri morn i have had a sore throat do you think its the inhaler or is it too soon to do that. also was put on a stomach tablet to reduce acid in my stomach does anybody no why i have been put on this coz my doc is rude and just said consultant had wrote to them and she was following instructions. getting a bit fed up now feels like im starting all over again. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Are you using a small spacer like an Aero chamber plus with the seretide? Best for avoiding sore throats. Taking as read, you gargle with water immediately after seretide puff. What one are you on? I'm on seretide 250. Crossing fingers seretide in whatever dose works for us both.

Ask the doctors to prescribe you a volumatic spacer, should help with the sore throat, but see you also have something for GERD, all proton pump inhibitors seem to cause similar side effects, for me it was a sore dry throat and mouth,

Most probably prescibed for GERD, I asked for mine. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), gastric reflux disease, or acid reflux disease is defined as chronic symptoms or mucosal damage produced by the abnormal reflux of stomach acid to the esophagus. A typical symptom is heartburn.

This is commonly due to transient or permanent changes in the barrier between the esophagus and the stomach. This can be due to incompetence of the lower esophageal sphincter, transient lower esophageal sphincter relaxation, impaired expulsion of gastric reflux from the esophagus, or a hiatal hernia.

A different type of acid reflux which produces respiratory and laryngeal manifestations is laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR), also called extraesophageal reflux disease (EERD). Unlike GERD, LPR is unlikely to produce heartburn, and is thus sometimes called silent reflux.

Also some research has indicated that a possible cause for GERD to be related to LABA use, and the preliminary data and quite a few in the medical profession do also suspect and support the link.

one option i find works is sucking an antiseptic lozenge (tescos do a nice on brand cherry) straight after.
